I am sure this is addressed elsewhere but I can't find it after much searching.
Could I describe say a 16 year old girl masturbating? Specifically, an older, legal age woman looking back and thinking about her teenage years and remembering what she used to think about when she masturbated? What if she thought about an older man? Absolutely no sex acts take place, but she does think about this man . can we even describe a younger teenager's thoughts about sex? If there is a thread about this somewhere, please send link. Thanks!

I *think* the guidelines hold that a minor's sexual activity can be reported but not described. Thus "I got my first fuck at 16," would pass, but "His 16-year-old cock rammed into my jailbait cunt," would not. In your case, "I remembered jilling-off to her image when I was 16," would pass, but "The teacher was so hot! I fingered my 16-year-old pussy mercilessly," would not.

But PM Laurel to be sure.

According to the official FAQs:
These are available on our Writer's Guidelines page. Basically, our biggest requirement is that we do not accept any story in which characters under the age of 18 are involved in sexual situations. We also have a minimum length guide. Please read the guidelines before submitting. If after reading our Guidelines you still have questions, feel free to email us.

It would seem that according to this, no mention of underaged sex is permitted.

In the Author's Hangout's Library, this post states that
[t]here are numerous reasons for a story to be rejected on Lit. Usually there will be a message that will hint at the reason. It could be grammar, punctuation, improper use of dialogue, paragraphs are too big, mention of underage sex, etc.

However, you can, according to the same post allude to flashbacks,
[o]nly if there are no details provided whatsoever. You can say "So and so lost her virginity or had sex"... and that's about all you can do.

In short? No. You cannot mention, not even in a flashback, that someone had any forms of sex under the age of 18. There are ways around it, for example, the protagonist thinking back to when she was younger, she would masturbate to the thought of him or whatnot, as long it's clear that she is not a child and there is no age given. And this is to protect the site and the owners itself: there are exceedingly strict definition as what constitutes as pornography and and the illegality of said genre.

You can mention that under-age sex happened, just don't describe it in detail. One of my stories mentions that a character was "an adventurous young lady" and got pregnant at 16, and that went through moderation without any problems. My rule of thumb is "is this description likely to arouse anybody?"

And this is to protect the site and the owners itself: there are exceedingly strict definition as what constitutes as pornography and and the illegality of said genre.

Clarification: it is not illegal under US law to publish sexually explicit stories involving minors. Mainstream publishers put out a lot of material that would be rejected by Literotica on that account, ranging from sexual material in Anne Frank's diary to really egregious stuff like Piers Anthony's "Firefly (no relation to the TV show).

The rules set by Literotica (and a lot of other self-publication outlets) are more conservative than current law requires. My best guess is that it's precautionary; laws can change, if somebody manages to raise enough of a moral panic, and as one of the biggest erotica sites Literotica would be a juicy target for a politician trying to whip up outrage.

Photographic material is a different matter.

I've been down this road here and got trounced once when wanting to talk about a guy younger than that jerking off. You can talk about "young" or "really young" but be wary of assigning an actual number or something that's too specific. If you're a good writer, you can find appropriate words to get the message across without stating numbers.

But if you are a good enough writer to do that, you should be good enough to observe Literotica's rules.

Anything that appears to be describing any sexual activity under the age of 18 is not allowed on Literotica. That is the owner's rule. If you don't like it, or want to write around it - then do NOT post the story on Literotica, please.
