Question about story categories..

Hello dear all!

I have the following question and I would really like to hear your opinion on the matter.
I’ve written a few stories so far, they were in Dutch so no problem there; that’s the non-English category.

But I might want to write a few more in English and here’s the problem: They mainly deal with men who are a lot older than the female main character.
Should I then post it in the category “Mature” or just “Erotic coupling” (but it’s such a huge category) or maybe I should post is as a “Fetish”? or did I overlook one?

I think they would fit best as "mature" stories based on the choices you've given so far.

The choice of category is dependent on where the main focus of the story is. If the focus is on the age difference then Mature is the best choice. If there is an older man/younger woman involved but the story focuses on bondage games, the romantic setting and happily ever after, or sharing with others, then BDSM, Romance, or Group Sex would apply respectively.

Erotic couplings is the catch-all category for stories that don't focus on anything except the "vanilla" sex.

I think, basically, I'm not sure what mature involves.. OK "sexy older folks"... but both of them? How old are we talking about?

And what I'm talking about is a twenty something female and a fifty or fourty something male..
And we have the "loving wife" section how about "loving hubbies".. aaaarrggg.. I'm making it too complicated for myself I guess.. should just stick to the non-english section!

But seriously, I would have submitted it to the "erotic coupling" but I kind of figured that Laurel is trying to slow down the growth of this category.. it's so easy to put everything in there, like a waste basket or something..

hmm.. how about a older men - younger women category, I promise I'll submit

I don't think there are any hard definitions for any of the categories. From what I've seen of th e"mature" category here, it includes the older man/younger woman, older woman/younger man, and "i thought that was too old to have sex" cetegories other sites divide things up into.

Just my personal guidelines for putting a story int the mature category -- 10+ years age difference or 50+ years old for one or all participants AND the story must focus on how the age difference makes things more romantic/erotic.

That sounds like a definite fit for the Mature category over the erotic couplings category. (unless they're also related )

"Loving Wives" I think is a good fit for any story involving swinging or consentual adultery. Sort of a grouping that includes "wives who love anything that wears pants," and "wives who don't get upset with skirt chasing husbands."

I'd be disappointed if you didn't submit at least one story in English. I don't speak (or read) Dutch, so I'm being deprived of your talent.

It really is an overcrowded category and Laurel is slowly expanding the categories. The problem is finding all of the stories for a new category and getting them moved before setting up another and searching out all of the stories that fit there.
