Question about stories (horror)

I've been making an ass of myself on another area here but I want to start posting some of my horror stories. I've been posting on other web sites but they don't have the readers like Literotica has.

my horror stories have nothing erotic about them, so is a non erotic horror story forbidden?

Nope. You'll need to post in the 'Non-Erotic' cat, though. As this is essentially an Erotic story site, most readers would be peeved if you posted your stories in the 'Erotic Horror' cat and there was no Erotica in them.

I have posted non-erotic stories in the Sci-Fi cat with no ill effect, in fact they were well received....I did put a little note at the beginning that there was no sex portrayed in the story though.

I was about to ask the same thing. When I clicked on JenAltArmy's comment link, I got a page that said I didn't have sufficient access. What gives?

Well...I wasn't at first. Good point. I guess there are no hard and fast rules on whether a posted story has to be truly Erotic in nature...at least not if you post a disclaimer as you have. I guess I was taking the story cats too literally.

You know to add to the cloak and dagger here it is possible that one of jenalts endless alts is a mod. and they can do whatever the hell they want. I know roryn is a mod on the Gb and has a ton of alias as well.

I have never seen this before though the thread is intact but only the op post is missing. Its the Lit bermuda triangle.

That is the error generated by Vbulletin when you follow a link to a post that has been deleted. It's the generic "You tried to do something you can't do" message

Have you ever gotten into it with anyone on the GB? let me tell you it is nothing like here. Scouries is just a boob and the worst I see over here is JBJ and sometimes Pilot when he feels like stirring up shit.

The people over there are like high school all over again. They're one big clique and if you are new or say something dumb they attack in legion. In reality there are not many members but having alts is a sport over there. they bring them all in to insult one another.

Eventually they get used to you if you stick around enough and can be equally rude. I occasionally post over there on non political threads and must have gotten through their phantom initiation policy because they generally leave me alone now.

On an interesting note-okay only interesting to me- there somehow got to be a non consent discussion over there and I chimed in with one of my rants and they.... all agreed with me. I wasn't sure what to make of it. Then they found out I wrote incest and the attack was on so I felt better.

Perhaps jenaltarmy is like the Smiths in the Matrix movies! Interesting anyway. Hey maybe we should for a group like in lord of the rings and venture over there. We'll start a thread about disappearing threads and then prepared to be attacked by the all the Rush Limbaugh wannabes.

Gone without a trace!! Things are getting scary around here. I think it's a cover up led by Jenalt to get people to think she/he/it are dead.

It is possible however (and I don;t feel like looking) that the dirty foot thread got booted to the playground. It happened to a thread my wife started in the personals and it got to racy so they yanked it to there and everyone thought it was just gone.

Glenn Beck's more into the conspiracy theories than Limbaugh. This is definitely weird though.

Again, standard VB process. As the first still-existing poster, when the database gets rebuilt, you get assigned as the thread originator by default, since there has to be one.

There aren't any mods in the GB other than Laurel. People claiming otherwise are even more full of it than the average GB alt.

Maybe enough people have to request the person to be banned? I have no idea but if memory serves me Jenalt had quite a few posts she/.he was not a fly by night. besides it would just be that alt that got booted as the name indicates they are legion.

But I want to add to your point when you speak of some of the ones over here. The alts in the GB are just annoying the alts over here troll stories, vote and favorite all their own work to pad their scores and ruin the contests and events for other people.

Since she(it?) still has 2500+ posts and is actively posting as of the last hour, I don't think the posts went missing deliberately. (also, vBulletin deletes all replies when an OP is deleted, so the reordering is not normal operation.)

Making it seem stranger is that a couple of days ago Jenalt sent me a pm about something I had said in a post and we went back and forth a couple of times. For the hell of it I went into the profile and you can no longer send her/him a pm so maybe they are deleting things themselves.

The change of OP is normal operation. It's a failsafe built into pretty much any forum software in the last decade.

Whether the post itself was deleted outside the standard scope of the forum controls via direct database access, a modification to override the default forum behavior, or whatever, when the original post vanishes from a thread that is still accessible to the public, the standard procedure during normal database housekeeping tasks is to fill in that "blank", and the blank is always filled with the current first poster in the thread.

I haven't monkeyed around under the hood of recent VB versions, but this is something so universal that you don't really need to.

The change of OP is normal operation. It's a failsafe built into pretty much any forum software in the last decade.

It is normal for database recovery, but it is not normal operation for a deliberate deletion of an original post. Saving replies while deleting the OP can be done, but it is complicated and not the default.

FWIW, the reason literotica is configured so that users are not allowed to delete their own posts is because deleting an original post was screwing up a lot of other people's post counts.
