I see people who have images (pictures) in their sig lines and I'd like to put one in mine for a while, but I can't figure out HOW to do it!

Can someone help me please?

Sarah,
Unlike the images which appear in the body of the posting, the sig line allows you to post using html.

The first thing you need to do is either find your image online, or put your image online in an appropriate place. Some servers won't allow remote access to images, like AngelFire. Others limit how often an image can be loaded, like Geocities.

One little trick you can use. you can post your image to the "Test your posting here" thread and that will solve the problem of "Where can I put my image".

Now lets say you've got your image online somewhere. It doesn't matter as long as it can be remotely accessed. Now you want to edit your sig and include the html commands to display the image in your sig.

The command is a simple one. Just put this in your sig then edit it to reflect the real URL.

<img src="http://www.anysite.com/myimage.jpg">

Change the anysite.com to represent the domain name of your image, change myimage.jpg to include the full path and file name of your image. Thats really all there is to it.

A good site for FREE pic hosting that allows hot linking is:Photobucket.com , At Photobucket, you simply singnup for a free account, and then every month, you have an account that offers:

Direct / Hot linking allowed
2,500 megs bandwidth p/month (~70,000 hits)
100 megs disk space (~2,500 pictures)
No porn or offensive pictures

Thanks a BUNCH! I know how to do all that stuff...and it's a pic that's linked to a site that allowed hotlinking (or whatever) so I should be able to use it. Plus, I have a site of my own for hosting pics.....

Thank you thank you thank you!!

Welp, another good site that offers a free 1meg account is: Walagata.com
There they do allow adult content (as long as it's not illegal of course). I was gonna add that link before as I do have an account there myself, but for the past few days there servers have been having some troubles so I opted not to, but you can still get an account there because I do know that depending on where in the U.S. you are located at makes a difference on what server you end up using.
