While many of my series stories see diminishing returns, in terms of declining views and votes, this latest submission is blowing everything I've ever done right out of the water.
Most of my stories receive between 20,000 and 45,000 views, with anywhere from 35 to 100+ votes. I usually only get a small smattering of public comments, regardless. The lowest number of views I usually receive is somewhere in the 8,000 range, with the exception of one story, which has only received about 5000 views.
This new story?
1500 views, only 13 votes and literally zero public comments. No PMs about it either, which is especially unusual for any "Summer" story.
This story was the result of many specific requests via PM, and this chapter in particular involves a climactic scene which quite a few people have literally been begging for since December.
Somehow, though, it's as if this new story chapter exists in a black hole.
Sure, it has a few editing errors, but then so do all my other stories. This was a pretty decent chapter and it's the most important chapter of a highly requested series.
My question to you is...any idea what happened? Any idea why? Is there something specific about this one which prompted people to ignore it in droves?
