Question about mentioning another website in story

In the current series I am writing I am using a Truth or Dare style game with a twist. The game came from another website along with the maority of the questions/dares.

I want to credit that site for the idea at the top of the story, but I don't know if that is allowed.

Please let me know. I don't make any money from that site, I am just a fan.

It depends.

If you only mention the website by name, such as saying "Google" then it might go through. If you add .com, .net, etc. then there's a chance it may get rejected. The only website addresses allowed in stories ( or author's notes ) are those on Literotica.

Even fake website addresses made up just for a story have been known to trigger a rejection.

You could always decide what you're going to say and run it past Laurel in a PM. Otherwise, you're going to have to try it and see if it gets rejected.

I had a story with a fake URL in it (and the title too) rejected. I had to give it a generic name--no URL structure--to get the story accepted.

If you merely mention the name of the website and any other pertinent information at the top of the story in a note, it might fly. As far as in the actual story goes, I, too, have been rejected for having a fake website used in the body of the story.

This is good info, as I might have to mention where I get an idea from on occasion.
