Question about Lit and Swinging.

Hi all. I'm sorry that this isn't 100% directly a story idea, but the general topic is certainly open to ideas, interests, favorites, etc.

What I'd like to know is which category at Lit would be best to showcase a swinging couple's lives together? I do not have a "full" plot in my head as of yet, but I see the couple as truly loving one another. There would be no ill will between the two of them or cheating or any other type of drama.

So, it seems Group Sex would be the logical category. What about Loving Wives? No, I do not want a story to be a troll magnent so if it's not a "popular" or "good" story theme for that category, currently, I will not use it. I suppose, especially if this were to develop into chapters, that I could use the Lesbian Sex or Gay Male categories if describing F/F or M/M themes...

I really would love others' input on this question. And, of course, if anyone has ideas, examples, interests, etc., regarding swinging please feel free to share!

I'd probably put it in Group unless there were strong M/M threads and then I might put it in Gay Male. I encounter this problem now and again myself. I definitely wouldn't put it in Loving Wives, and unless it was solely F/F, I wouldn't put it in Lesbian. But that's just me.

If the central theme is swingers, I would think that Group Sex is the place to put it.

As far as I can tell, the purpose of the various categories is NOT to help people find stories they like, but to help people avoid being offended. So you should put any given story in the most offensive story category that applies to it, to avoid more dainty readers accidentally stumbling across it. So if there is lots of MM or incest or nasty cheating, use that as your guiding light.

You could consider "Erotic Encounters", but in the end it doesn't matter what you think; the powers-that-be will put it into the category they consider most appropriate.

It really depends on the action and tone of the story. I have written a few swingers stories, most of which were submitted in Group Sex. The reason was that most of the sex scenes involved three or more people. I inadvertantly submitted one story in Loving Wives -- it was surprisingly well-received and has not engendered any troll activity. Nonetheless, that category selection was due to operator error, not conscious deliberation.

If your characters are "open swingers", i.e., they play independent of one another, then erotic couplings may be an option. BDSM is also a possibility if such scenes are part of the story. Interracial, too, could be a appropriate.

Agreed. My stories in LW average almost twice as many views as Group Sex. Nonetheless, LW remains the troll home world.

okay, I know that strange but when someone brings up the word "swinger" that's the mental image I get. not sure why.

I don't mind the trolls, or my new stalker but what gets me is if he or she doesn't like a LW story, then why do they read it?

That may or may not be accurate. Threesomes are probably the most common fantasy in that category, so it would make sense that those stories should be the most common. I have found that a threesome is a jumping off point for many couples in the lifestyle. It's a "gateway fuck."

Also, it is very hard to write about more than three and possibly four people having sex at one time.

It does seem the category was originally designed for stories of women who stepped out of their marriage for whatever reason; however, the trolls beat up those stories horribly. Even when the husband supports the lifestyle and wants it, the trolls are harsh. Not that I am trying to cater to them at all, but I do wonder what is the "appropriate" or popular theme over there now.

if men don't like the LW type story, then why do they read it? guess, its due to guilt.
