I'm not sure that this is the right forum but it is a sexual related question...

it seems that the loving wife stories get a lot of readers (and a lot of negative comments)... my question is do you prefer these stories in 1st or 3rd person?

if in first, do you want the husband's or wife's point of view?

One things for sure- people who read 'loving wives' stories won't tolerate anything even mildly cuckold related.

I had loads of hate mail as a result of posting in that category, even though she really is a loving wife in the story...

I enjoy "Loving Wife" stories and really don't understand why anyone bothers to read and then criticize stories they don't like. If you don't like 'em don't read. 'em.
First or third person? Point of view matters less to me than the quality of the writing.

Personally, I strongly prefer third person.
I will actually skip over an otherwise sexy story if it's written in first person. Odd, I know.

The Loving Wives category on here is completely fucked up. The website knows what "Loving Wife" means, it's in the category's description, but they have allowed morons to post stories about actual, loving, doting wives and jilted males to post beat-the-bitch stories. It's a huge mess.

It's sort of a troll category...lots of issues in those readers. I submitted there sort of thinking I'd stir the pot, but missed the mark and it went better than expected.

It's my favorite category. I prefer first person and true stories are far better than fiction.

I had a comment criticizing the wives in a wife swapping scenario, but not the husbands, as if they were innocent. Someone has issues...

I prefer first person........with lots of dirty cummunication and details!

Like this section a lot. My preference is third person limited with the POV shifting back and forth between the husband and wife. I like seeing where each side is coming from. And cumming from.

... I'm so sorry.

My preference is 1st person from the husband. It's always hot the husbands account of watching his wife getting fucked by a big cock stud or listening from another room as another man had his wife in his bedroom humping her on his marital bed.

I love that stuff, but post it in Loving Wives and you'll get abuse for being a sissy degenerate pervert. Mainly from the USA, it has to be said.

Too true but it's easy to ignore the flamers. Personally I think the flamers are in denial about their own feelings toward to the idea of men fucking their wives so they lash out against those that do express themselves.

That's a shame. Those are my favourite stories and what I look for when I go into the loving wives section. My favourites are those stories that start as cuckold and some revenge that then start to move towards feminisation and sissification.

I like 1st person from hubbies perspective best.

And I agree, there are *a lot* of people in Loving Wives who don't seem to grasp why the title of the category is a little bit funny....

Although there's some of those people in all the categories, I wrote some mild femdom once and some guy turned up saying she was fucked up and controlling bitches like that need putting out on their asses.

:')

I personally write mostly in third person, usually with a narrative overlay. First person can be very good but I find it hard to get it right.

If you write in the first person from the perspective of only one character it is hard to explore other perspectives. Meanwhile I find it difficult to try to empathize or get into the heads of multiple characters. Whenever I try they all end up agreeing with each other and the human dynamic is lost.

My perspective on other people's writing tends to follow the same lines because I have not found many that do a good job with first person.

would always love the wife's view!:D

Sadly, most comments are not about the author’s writing style or expertise, some not even about the story itself.

You’re half right; the hate-wives-who-have-sex trolls won’t tolerate any story in the category. They are the most vocal and nasty. You probably had a few nice comments from readers who are cuckolds or enjoy cuckold stories.

I enjoy "Loving Wife" stories and really don't understand why anyone bothers to read and then criticize stories they don't like. If you don't like 'em don't read. 'em...
Your mistake is thinking they read the stories. Some commenters will admit in their comment that they didn’t read it. They just come to one-bomb and vilify the authors.

I agree, the category is a fucked up mess but it comes with freedom of speech. Anyone can write any story with few restrictions (underage, beastiality, et al). The same freedom of speech allows others to shit on well-written stories. The trolls have taken over this particular category with herd-mentality, turning it into a “Cheating Wives and Wimpy Husbands” dunk tank. A story about a cheating husband always gets a pass.

The category description that suggests it’s for “Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more.” is ignored by authors and trolls alike. The scary part is that the trolls are branching out, attacking any story in any category that portrays a wife having sex. The trolls have been known to punish authors by one-bombing all their stories regardless of categories.

The only bright spot in all this: the trolls’ efforts are in vain. Authors are still writing stories about wives having sex with other men and most readers enjoy the stories. The trolls can’t foist their morals on the public. Intelligent authors leave the vile comments up because they often provide the very reason for other readers to ignore the comment. Finally, almost all one-votes are deleted after a short time. Literotica uses a process authors refer to as ‘sweeps’ to purge irregular voting.

The sweeps are meant to equalize contest judging but they affect all stories. No one knows the exact process but a consensus of people think these are the ways votes are flagged for removal. A bunch of one-votes on a story that garners mostly fours and fives are considered irregular. A person votes more than one time on a story as anonymous or by using more than one username (identified by the IP address.) A person votes without reading the story, whether as anonymous or while logged in. Smart people surmise the exact logarithm for detecting the latter involves story word count and the minimum length of time a reader’s browser is open on EVERY page. Based on Lit’s 1700 words per page and 200 words per minute average reading speed, the estimated time is around 8 minutes. If a voter has just one vote flagged in some way, all their votes (good & bad) are removed from every story, going back in time without limit. Authors see votes removed from stories even years after submission without having received recent votes. With a lot of time and effort, a troll can get a one-vote to stick for awhile, but one slip and it disappears like a fart’s stink.

I like the loving wives stories. It does not matter if it is first or third person, so long as the writing is reasonably good. Of course, some authors think they are Hemingway and go on and on without getting anywhere. Others don't know what a paragraph break is and that kind of story is very hard to read.

I do not like a story where the wife and new boyfriend are out to humiliate the husband, unless the husband gets a real good revenge. I am always big on justice.

I like a story where she has no intention of taking a new lover, but somehow ends up doing so anyway. There are many ways this works out, including coercion. I much prefer when it works out with the couple still together at the end.

Back to the original question, I tend to write in first person present tense.

Obviously it's immediate but doesn't give much scope for talking about thoughts and feelings. I do tend to write a kind of premise paragraph at the beginning in past tense, but always first person.

Yeah, I'm with you on the humiliation part....can do with out. Maybe there needs to be a category of LW-BDSM with a sub category of humiliation.

I like HEA and where the couple has fun together. What woman doesn't want two men in her bed worshiping her? Making her orgasm time after time while treating her like a queen :)

I will happily drink to that sentiment.

So far, I've only posted one story on Literotica, and it was a cuckold story in the Loving Wives category.

I wasn't surprised to get quite a few abusive comments. Howls of masculine insecurity, I guess.

My stories are in first person from the husband's perspective, but maybe I should experiment with doing it other ways.
