I was diagnosed with Lupus about A year ago and i'm going down fast. I alway's seem to be sick latley. I'ts an Auto Immune Disease. also diagnosed with Connective Tissue Disease. I went from A size 8 to A size 1-2 in 2 months or so. The chronic fatigue is what get's me down most. And the wierd things that are happening to my bod, It causes Arthritis and bruises come from nowhere, also it attacks your internal organs, I take 7 different meds A day, twice a day actually. Doe's anyone know of any herbal meds I can try?

Ask your doctor what, if any, herbal remedies might be appropriate. Many can have interactions with the medications you're already taking.

I'm terribly sorry to hear of your illness and wish you the best.

Try the heath food shops that sell vitamins and herbs etc. But always check with a heath professional to see if the natural things will be ok along side the doctors meds...

Chin up my dear.... :rose:

This isn't an herbal remedy, but the University of Chicago Med Center is doing a trial study of stem cell transplant for lupus patients. The preliminary results seem to be good. We have a patient who has just been approved for the study. I will try and find you a link to it, if your interested.

Edit... It wasn't University of Chicago, it was Northwestern.

Heres a link to information on several research studies:

As always you need to speak to your immunologist. No matter what it is that you do or try.

Good advice! :)

These are some links that helped my 9 year old who was diagnosed with a low immune system.
I hope they help. :)

Thanks everybody!

Doctor and Specialist say no herbal meds, But i'm willing to try anything. I will check out all the web sites everyone sent. I'ts nice to know there are such nice and caring people here on Lit. One good thing about losing the weight, I got new clothes! Also, Does anyone know of any clinical trials? i'm willing to be a ginny pig.

I do not know of any herbal drugs personally but my sister says smoking pot actually helps her (she has it also). I promise I am not making this up in an attempt to be funny, she really started using pot again after she was diagnosed. Now is it an excuse to smoke pot, possibly since she has fought chemical addictions the last 15 years or so but she does swear by it. Anyways best of luck, I have known several people with lupus and while not fatal it does drag one down harshly.
