Hi everyone! I have four prose stories on Literotica right now but haven't (yet) posted any poems.

I'm considering posting my first poem but I'm not sure if it would violate the posting guidelines; you see, it's a pretty overt parody of Green Eggs and Ham.

I realize that parodies are generally considered not to violate copyrights, but I'm not sure if that's sufficient not to be in violation of the posting guidelines. Notwithstanding the fact that it is based on the classic Dr Seuss poem, it is entirely my own work.

Parodies (the more overt the better) even have a sort of special copyright exception.
You want my advice, make it good. make it damn good.

nothing wrong with a parody, so long as it's clearly that and you have gone out of your way to let us know it is and not some rip-off... oh, and so long as it's good ;) look forward to reading it.

while you're about it, why not take time to read some of the writing by other poets here and leave some comments of your own? this often helps gather a newcomer more of the reciprocal interest they're hungry for.

Check this link and this one for info on this matter. It seems like if you are a Canadian issues might be different.
