Finished reading Steel Ball Run, so fuck it, I want some queer western story ideas. That’s it, lol, so on with the examples

1. Queer version of “Ringo” the Lorne Green song. Lawman finds a dying man, nurses him back to health and the man does everything he can to becomes the best gunman. Eventually, the man becomes an outlaw and the lawman has to track him down. Just add a romance element to it.

2. Mining town starts to prosper and a man sends off for his wife to join him. Only thing is, when she gets there, she’s greeted by a woman.

A. Man knows his wife is into women so he found a woman who was bi, they struck up a friendship and want wife to have a happy life with them.

B. She is her husband. Husband is trans (maybe a weird west element where an artifact let her get a transformation, or maybe she just dresses in affirming clothes) or maybe does drag shows and is just very GNC

what are some more ideas?

How about a western frontier story inspired by the real life of Albert D.J. Cashier? 😍

Albert was assigned female at birth and immigrated as a child to the US from Ireland. He took to identifying as a man and worked as a farm hand in Illinois before enlisting in the Union Army during the Civil War, where he served with distinction in multiple battles, was captured by Rebels but escaped, and fought in at least forty battles before being honorably discharged.

His birth sex was discovered a couple of times by neighbors and doctors, but each time they chose to keep his secret, and he lived as a man for fifty years until he began to suffer from dementia and was institutionalized and forced to wear women's clothing during the last year of his life.

After Albert's death in 1915, some of his army comrades vouched for his identity and the US Government allowed him to be buried in uniform with a veteran's gravestone and full military honors 😭😭
