can anyone tell me if when you have a Vasectomy does it affect your love making in any way my partner is having one done in six weeks and i would like to know what will happen after.

It is a bit "uncomfortable" for about three weeks. It in no way diminishes desire. I had NO psychological effects. In fact, I coached a little league ball game about an hour after the procedure (done in a doctor's office). Mistake - after the anesthesia wore off, I was bent over for the rest of the game.

Bottom line, it is the easiest method of reproductive control for a couple (and I'm male, by the way). Be sure, however, that he does not EVER want children (or more children). It is almost irreversable. Oh, by the way, have him "tested" after the procedure. On rare occasions, it does not work!

After three weeks or so, he should be back to "normal" - LOL, whatever that is!

All things being equal, there should be no change really. There should be no psychological effects caused specifically by the procedure, like snipping the libo nerve or something.

Quite the contrary. It can be quite a liberating experience for both partners since the potential for pregnancy is now gone.

Personally, I felt fine after the procedure and only remembering things being a bit tender for less than a week. Some people have different recovery times.

Since the actual contribution to the total ejeculate by sperm is only 5-10%, there should be no noticeable decrease. Unless of course you do a very detailed, highly quantitative scientific study over a several week period

You may or may not believe this, but my sex drive was stronger after my procedure, and a friend of mine said the same thing.

Just remember to continue to use protection for the first 25 times after the proceedure. There can still be live sperm in the tubes for a while. A friend of mine didn't take that precaution, and got his wife pregnant a week after the operation!

Excuse the adopted name. Had mine done some thirty odd years ago. No problems, still firing blanks and enjoying it.
There was a fear about twenty eight years ago that it led to hardening of the arteries but that was disproved. No other scare stories since - to my knowledge.

As someone said, it's the kindest cut of all!
