Tomorrow is a really big day for me: Cisco semester 1 final. I've been studying for days, taking practice tests, etc etc. I think I'm drifting into mild panic mode now ;) Anyone else ever take this test and get through it successfully? I'm kind of concerned as I won't be able to go for my CCNA if I don't get above 75 in this final. So send some good wishes my way, please :D

Convince us that you're magically delicious and I'll smack you upside the head with my wand.

Not familiar with those acronyms, well I think I know, but if I've learned anything, it's that jargon is non-transferable.

For example:

In agriculture, TMR means Total Mixed Ration.
In education, TMR means Trainable Mentally Retarded.

Anyway I once worked with a guy who was a leading national authority on testing. When the big test comes, don't forget the basics....Get a full night's rest, eat normally, & feel good about yourself.

You can't perform well if you're sleepy, or if you're tired your memory won't work as well or as quickly as normal.

If you overeat, you'll get sleepy, if you don't eat you could have low blood sugar & a sluggish mind & memory.

As for feeling good about your self, try wearing something that makes you feel special because of the memories associated with it, be it clothing or jewelry. Or by wearing something new, as simple as socks or underware that you think make you look great.
(Or maybe some old underware that you had on before a great sex session).

Anything that connects you to positive memories about yourself, or someone that has a high opinion of you, is like an encouraging pat on the but if you're sitting there waiting to start the test, or if you hit a sticking point.

One other thing. It's often a good idea to review terms & definitions, because you can't answer a question if you don't understand it.

Thanks all for the good luck wishes. I'm heading to bed early to get a good sleep. I'm lucky in that I can usually get to sleep the night before big finals. I know a few of my classmates will be up until 4am trying to cram everything in.

Patient1, great suggestions! I like to wear my ass kicking boots to tough tests. They make me feel like I can take on the whole world :D

As for terms, that's a lot of what I've been concentrating on. This portion of the Cisco Networking has a lot of basics to it and far too many acronyms. What it's really going to come down to is how the questions are worded. A lot of chapters have had summary questions that were oversimplified, followed by tests that were difficult. There were rewrites available for those but this final is a one shot deal. Nothing like a little pressure to make us all crazy ;)

Well, I'm off to bed but I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow :)

The countdown is on....four hours to go before the exam. I'm feeling a little more relaxed this morning. I had a great sleep and now I'm in search of some breakfast :)

Well I made it back alive from the big final. It went even better than expected...I made a 94! So now I'm going to kick back and relax for a while before starting on my programming. Thanks for all the good wishes and great advice :)
