The whole "who's punk, who's not" think is sorta like that "what's literature" thread going on in the Author's Hangout. Some people consider Green Day and Blink-182 to be punk. Other people don't think it's punk unless it's released by a label run by some 15-year-old kid and pressed on 7" vinyl.

What about FUGAZI? Are they not the only non-Punk band to make the Punk Lifestyle work?

And my hometown favorites that got a record deal but couldn't keep it together: FOLLOW FOR NOW.

They were like Punksters that could actually play more than 3 chords. And no before, Morningchick chimes in, you did not carry their gear or some other nonsense. The keyboard player works downtown and he'd remember you. If you can find FOLLOW FOR NOW's cover of Public Enemy's "She Watch Channel Zero" you're in for a real treat.

I LOVED Fugazi. I listened to 13 Songs over and over again for my entire senior year. They're still one of the few punk bands who actually practice what they preach. Even Jawbreaker sold out.
