Uh-uh. Dial-up with the first version of XP (before all the patches and fixes, with all the bugs in it) on a computer with a Celeron processor and teeny-tiny memory. It depends. As a teacher, I would discuss it first to determine the nature of the disobedience and would deal with it accordingly. Consistency is key in order to establish a comfort zone, boundaries and confidence as maintaining trust and correcting the behavioral issue is the point, not punishing without reason. Enforced time apart is certainly an option, as is the removal of certain privileges, and the spectrum can rage from very gentle and motivating to harsh and unbending as needed depending on the situation.

Anyone could sit here & list possible ways to punish someone in an online relationship. That doesn't mean they'd be effective with every person however. Find something your person doesn't like doing & make them do that. Or something they wish they could do, but don't have the nerve to & make them try it. That's the best I can suggest right now. (I'm not feeling overly good, so my brain isn't fully functional at the moment.)

Leading by fear is one thing, when you lead by example... you will be followed anywhere and disappointment is far more powerful than any disciplinary action that you could take.

For me, a gentle reminder that I am trusted to guide us for a reason is more than enough 90% of the time, while most of the other 10% is when she is likely willfully disobedient out of a desire to be punished or a need to have it demonstrated that I will be firm and handle her as necessary when required.
