I’ve been trying to get something up for about a month now, but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.

I’ve got a few chapters backed up but didn’t want to submit them in case I have to look for somewhere else to host them. It’s been about a month.

What’s everyone’s experience with this lately?

It can take a while for new users to get stories accepted, and it also depends on how well it's written and if it breaks any rules. This has been covered many many times. Resubmitting just puts it at the bottom of the que, also well known. You could just DM her about it, which is the only way to contact her, because the Contact Us link, doesn't work for who knows why, which isn't widely known.

Also there's nothing here that states you can't publish elsewhere, what you put here. This is where I publish first, but I republish on other sites. Not many sites outside of contest require exclusivity.

My experience has been very random. One story got posted within two days, and the other few......I took them down after a month and resubmitted, still in pending status after two weeks.

A three part chapter for my series has been on the pending/publishing pile for 33 days now...
No response from anyone as to why... Had other chapters of other series leapfrog published over them and still they waited... 18 hours has been my fastest in the past... Tried the draft/publish/pending thing... No response and no feedback if there's a problem isn't helping...

I finally, finally got feedback. They seem to think it’s AI generated, probably because they’re using some crappy AI checker that flagged my wording.

Follow the advice in the rejection note. And see here:

https://forum.literotica.com/threads/story-sent-back-please-read.1637742/

But note that we live in slightly strange times in which some stories get trapped in a gravity well and never escape.

At least you have feedback as to what is wrong with yours, which is more than many.

I wonder if that's my problem as well. It hasn't actually been sent back, so all I can do is speculate.

I first thought maybe it was a question of age, as I previously had a story sit in Pending until I resubmitted with a verification of ages. So, I resubmitted this one with a similar note, but it's still languishing in the Pending status.

I'm a high-functioning autistic, so my natural language patterns are probably not that different from what a logic-driven AI would produce. Also, I've started using the real ellipsis (…) rather than three periods (...), along with other characters not found directly on a standard keyboard, such as the interrobang (‽).

I'll give it a few more days to see if it will get published or sent back, but if it stays in Pending I'll probably resubmit with an additional note stating no AI was used.

Same. I’ve had feedback in the past that it’s a rhythmic/flow thing, so I wonder if it’s along those lines. Still, I don’t like the idea that they’re writing people off with an AI checker.

How long is your story? If it isn't greater than 6,000 words ... no offense, but I would say it's a quality issue with the story (or a taboo topic).

Here's what Literotica says
- basically, give it 15 days in Pending
- my take is, wait that 15 days and if it's still pending after 15 days, delete it completely, resubmit and add a Note to Admin telling them what you have done. (ie your story sat in pending 15 days+, you deleted and are resubmitting). There seem to be some issues here that are affectimg a lot of people but with no other info available, we just gotta go with what we know and deletimg and resubmitting seems to be working for a lot of people - but give it that time in pending first - and DON'T jump in, open and resubmit - that just sends you to the back of the queue again.

If your story is in your Pending Stories folder and has been pending for fewer than 15 days, please do not click on or alter the submission in any way as that may further delay its publication***.

We are working to get caught up as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience, and for sharing your stories!

*** To Clarify: Simply clicking on a pending work will not send it back to the queue. However, we have had numerous cases where an author believed that they had "only clicked" on a pending submission but in fact inadvertently saved or otherwise altered it - thereby sending it to the back of the queue. For this reason, we recommend not clicking on or otherwise opening a submission form unless you intend to make changes.

It also doesn’t seem like there’s a manual review process. No one seems to read the comments with the story. Anyway, just annoyed that I’ve wasted multiple editors’ time just to have it rejected to some automated system (that also probably utilises AI tools). What a joke.

At least some notes to the admin are read. There are routine posts about this. It is VERY clear that there is at least a minimal manual review of everything. And if the AI rejections were purely automated, that would happen immediately (within 24 hours). That they generally do not suggests that a person does in fact review the results of an automated process, at the very least.

I'm certain there are false accusations. It has to be frustrating as hell to be the recipient of one. I wish I had an answer for it.

No, follow up submissions were all sent back with an automated note in less than 10 hours. I think they may have changed their process. The last one seemed to be immediately rejected.

More accurately:

Nothing gets approved without a (possibly minimal) manual review by a human. Obviously some of those reviews won't result in approval.

I put my most recent one in Group, but added a note saying they'd probably hate it there and the vibe was more EC and she put it in EC. So even little things like that are being read.
