The blogosphere is all (sorry) atwitter over little Sally Draper's masturbation scene on Sunday night's "Mad Men." And for all the wrong reasons.

They think that 11-year-old actress Kiernan Shipka being made to open her legs à la Sharon Stone and place her fingers under her nightgown to -- as they say with such dignity on the show -- "play with herself" is art.

What? She's 11!

They found the scene enlightening -- as in, children should know that masturbation is not shameful. (And if they were allowed to stay up past their bedtime to watch this grownup show, I'm sure they'd be enlightened like crazy.)

One feminist blogger did find the scene offensive -- but because, I swear, it "demonizes female sexuality!"

A male writer for the news commentary Web site Slate found it funny: "Leave the Sally Draper masturbation scene for me to . . . touch upon." Yikes.

This is an 11-year-old child whose life has been compromised by being made to feign masturbation on national television! It's like starring in a training film for pedophiles.

SCRANTON, Pa. – If his diary and witness accounts are to be believed, Nicholas Pinto endured months of physical, sexual and mental abuse in prison. Guards roughed him up, made him stand naked in a cold cell for hours at a time, and taunted him relentlessly. A fellow inmate raped him night after night, beat him when he resisted, and stole his possessions.

And no one, he claimed, did a thing about it.

"The overall treatment I have received from both the prison and (the prison's) medical providers (is) unconstitutional, insufficient, cruel, inhumane and shamefully unacceptable," Pinto wrote in April.

He feared for his life, yet the officials responsible for his safety appear to have ignored his pleas for help — nor did they heed a warning from the prison chaplain that Pinto was in grave danger.

An accused child pornographer, he was at the bottom of the prison hierarchy. So what came next was perhaps inevitable.

The 29-year-old former Connecticut man was heading back to his cell block from a recreation area when he was ambushed by an inmate with a history of violence who was supposed to be locked down — but wasn't. The inmate knocked him to the floor and stomped on his head at least 15 times "with all his might," according to a police report. Pinto's face was shattered, and he suffered brain injuries that left him comatose.

After the attack, his assailant had enough time to return to his cell and use a rag to wipe evidence from his black sneakers, police said.

The Aug. 8 assault raised troubling questions about prison justice and the culture of the scandal-plagued lockup where Pinto was supposed to be held in protective custody. Multiple investigations are being conducted by local authorities and the state Department of

Corrections to try to get to the bottom of how and why Pinto's attacker was allowed to get near him, and a federal civil rights lawsuit is being prepared.

Critics of Lackawanna County Prison in Scranton say the near-fatal assault is part of a pattern in which correctional officers target inmates they don't like....

But, I found out in an earlier thread, we don't depict underage sex on screen, those actors/actresses were old enough, rape's not sex, yada, yada, yada, unless your name is Polanski, and then it's consensual...

Excusable even...

Now which famous President says he wouldn't want his daughter punished for a mistake and voted to kill the survivors of late-term abortions...

You think he lets his kids watch this stuff...

Condones the Left's "ART?"

Where's the usual crowd, rushing in to defend their beloved Hollywood?

Where's the "pedos" should be abused in jail crowd?

TYPICAL!!!

it's all fucking sick. no, i don't agree that the girl should have been asked to do the scene, let alone have it filmed and aired; yes, i think the pedo in jail ought to have got protection in prison from his attackers. prison is the place to put the wrongdoers, not somewhere wrongs are allowed or even encouraged to be performed.

Jail is a tough place.

Don't be a fuck up if you do not want to sleep there.

Tougher on some than others...

But we get squeamish over the Constitution and waterboarding terrorists.

How old were you the first time you played with yourself? Would that action have been an issue to the others in your house at the time?

What the hell does that have to do with sending a 17 year-old girl to jail for sexting, stomping a guys head in, or showing an eleven year-old masturbating on an Emmy-winning show?

Should the 17 year-old get her head bashed in?

The youngster was exploring her parts. Is this natural? Even in Kansas? I would say yes. However, our society does not accept masturbation. The show in question was exploring that. Should that show be compared to child pornography? I say no. The subject matter is taboo but that does not make it against the law.

Okay, then why is it a crime ANYWHERE but television?

If you are 17 and it is downloaded to your phone along with the clip of you masturbating, then which one is the punishable offense?

Or

Do you get your head stomped in for having that clip on your computer when they come for you, bad boy, bad boy...

The 17 year-old GOT ZERO TOLERANCE!

But Hollywood can "explore" for ratings?

That's DOUBLE exploitation!

Because it is not a crime to discuss masturbation. The law defines what is and what is not pornography. The show in question did not meet that criteria.

No, she should be forced to raise someone else's unwanted child to punish her for her wayward thoughts concerning sexuality. The same for this 11 year old girl. Not quite as clear how the child pornographer should be punished (or the prison guards and brutal thug they employed), perhaps they should be burned at the stake.

This is OBVIOUSLY another situation where liberal desire for legal abortion has corrupted the Hollywood Establishment AND the Pennsylvania prison system.

Thank you ever so much for bringing this huge problem, symptomatic of everything wrong in America to our attention. I shall immediately send off a massive check to every Radical Right Republican and to a Church Based Family Organisation.

I can only hope it arrives in time to prevent future sexuality.

Uh-huhhh...

Just a free speech issue.

Like photographing yourself underage...

So eleven year-old actual sex is probably the next ploy for attention in the name of art, no?

Lots of stage parents willing to offer their kids too, I'll bet.
