I've just heard about it. No wonder you're all suffering from paranoia.

Living under the jackboot like you do...

Yes it is a sad day for human society when you can't wander around, drunk off your ass.

OK, strike what I said from the record.

The jury's instructed to ignore it...

:p

Sweden has one.
It is not enforced that strictly it is to be able to get drunkards off the street, usually in conjunction with the law about disturbing the peace.

I don't consider myself under the jack boot, far from it.
But thanks for caring.

Why not?

As long as you don't violate someone else's rights, why not?

It's funny you should bring up public intoxication laws, pp. Here in Vegas, tourists can walk around the Strip with a drink in their hand and the police do nothing. However, let a local walk around drinking, or obviously drunk, anywhere else in town, and they'll get arrested.

There's a similar double standard here with homosexuals caught fooling around in an adult theater. Tourists get lectured, but let go; locals get arrested and charged with a felony.

may i ask a question?

this is an honest question to which i really wonder the answer. Why do you hold such hatred for the United States? I can understand that our Foreign Policy may not be something that you agree with and I can respect other's opinions.

I'm just wondering, if you don't want to answer, its just fine by me, but I wonder if you could explain it to me. I also mean no offense with this question whatsoever.

thanks,

An honest question deserves an honest answer...

The one person I detest is Bush. If you notice I try to say Bush's America wherever I can to differentiate my comments from a general remark about your country.

I, and others, see many blinkered viewpoints on these boards, and all many of us are trying to do is submit different viewpoints.

Sometime I submit threads which are very much tongue in cheek and sometimes I don't.

Not all of my threads spark heated debates, some drop like stones off the end of the Board!

:)

We got one too....

It doesn't apply to any member of the Kennedy clan! They have a lifetime exemption thanks to Teddy! :D

Why do you hate America so much?

O come on, now, ppman, we all know you hate America. Each morning when you wake up, you fix yourself a rum & coke and chant "I hate America" to yourself several hundred times. Then it's off to the local pub for another drink, and a game of darts with George Bush's face as the target. (Hitting a nostril gives you the maximum score.) In the afternoon, you head for the soccer stadium, where you burn American flags and pass out more of them to anyone who wants to burn one himself. At teatime, you hang Bush in effigy while sipping your tea and munching your biscuits. Finally, you stagger home and spend the evening sending coded messages to Al Qaeda through Literotica and polishing off the bottle, until you pass out and collapse on your bed.

Something like that, anyway.
;)

I too cannot stand BUSH, although compared to Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, Rove, and Card he is a pleasant dream. I'm a fast mofo, so I run away from the pigs that try to PI me(3 for 3). It's bullshit, I say downsize the government-just make sure you start with the crap ass cops.

Some are tongue in cheek. Most are head up ass.

Hic.

We don't have public intoxication laws where I live. Then again, we generally don't get publicly intoxicated. Some one will knock your dumb ass out long before that happens. Seems after a cocktail or two, Kansans loosen up and speak their peace...

LOL REDWAVE - You're beginning to get the hang of it. (You're especially begining to do VERY well with DIXON, p_p_, just being the warm-up act...) :D !

Who says ratfuck subversive commie sub-human refuse doesn't have a sense of humor :p ?

Fixed Penalty Notices

WEST Midlands Police and British Transport Police have launched a 12-month pilot scheme throughout the West Midlands issuing penalty notices for minor offences of disorder and anti-social behaviour.

<clip>

The lower level of penalty ticket would be in the sum of £40 and could be issued for offences including:
• Being drunk and disorderly; trespassing on a railway; throwing stones at a train; being drunk on the highway; buying alcohol for someone under the age of 18; throwing fireworks and drinking in a designated area.

Yes, Peeps, how can you possibly live under those "Jackboots"?

Rhumb:p

Swear to gawd - Rumsfeld acts like a Kansan. He's a class act and the jewel of an Administration that keeps sandbagging the hapless Democrats. Bush has got them jumping up and down screaming stupid like a bunch of monkeys on ex-lax looking for some solid poo to sling...

They HATE him!

The caring, human people who gave us hate crime laws and tarred and feathered the Rebulicans as baby-starvers, they HATE BUSH. Get it? LMAO almost everytime they post and spew their festering hate and anger... The peacefull, loving Democrats and their allies, the enlightened Euro-Liberals...

:D

p_p_'s all out staggering around looking for huge silver tubes that rise out of the ground presenting themselves before him like a Who album cover and p_p_ gleefully cries out after writing his name on the wall, Who's Next?

The actual crimes are:

disorderly
trespass
throwing stones
drunk on a highway
buying alcohol for someone underage
drinking in a designated area (park. childrens' play area etc).

But I can still stagger out of my local, pass my local police station, slur "g'nigh'..." to the bobby on the door and go home peacefully without fear of arrest...
