As a member of the old, wrinked and fat, I would seriously doubt the decency of letting the world see me naked.

When I look at the definition for the word, I see nothing that correlates 'decency' with 'prettiness'...

One definition has to do with 'standards of dress' but if you're nakie there won't be dress at all, right?

I'm indecent in general, so I don't think I could offer much salient insight here. If pressed, however, I'd say: Hit the pause button about going nude if your tits hang down to your pelvis or if your nuts hang down to your mid-thighs.

Ummm yeah I've heard horror stories about liposuction. Not that they take out to much or anything. I've heard that after losing alot of weight, she had alot of excess skin hanging. Also something about how the doctor refused to remove it because it would shrink to fit her in a month or something.

Why?

A breast is still a breast, no matter what shape or size, same for any other body part. I think defining whether someone can go nude dependant on "looks" is obscene.

There have been court decisions in favor of nudity -- at the federal level as a First Amendment issue, and in New York State (allowing topless for women) as an equality issue.

Like many decisions, such as the ones repealing sodomy laws, these go beyond "consensus". Of course, it is controversial when the legal system pushes beyond consensus -- just look at the continuing furor over Roe vs Wade -- or what is happening in California with the gay marriage decision.

When we try to enforce cultural preferences through laws, we are usually making a mistake.

Unlike public nudity laws sodomy laws involved activity by consenting adults behind closed doors. We still don't allow butt-fucking in public. So the analogy doesn't really hold.

Granted, but as I said in my first post here, the standards for "public decency" are arbitrary and based on cultural preferences. My expectation is that the "cultural preferences" of porn writers are a bit different from those of the mainstream. To be specific, the ethic of "OK by me if it feels good and doesn't hurt anyone else" is more likely to prevail. Then you get into the question raised by other's here, which is whether the public display of gross or extremely unattractive bodies "imposes an externality" that diminishes my quiet enjoyment of the landscape.

One of the other arguments I have heard is that the mere sight of a nude or partialy nude person will somehow warp or injure the mentality of children. How can this be? How could the sight of a person walking nude in the street warp a child? (Other than through the illogical idea that nudity is equal to sex.)

It is not the sight of a nude person that warps the child... it is their parent's over reaction due to their own warpedness. But you already knew that.

If you believe in this sort of thing:
God created Man and woman NAKED!!! And it was "GOOD" ...I believe it was VERY good. Only after man got things screwed up (warped) by disobeying God did he (and she) perceive their nakedness to be shameful. The real shame was in being disobedient, NOT being naked.
