not sure if this has been mentioned yet on this board.

are many of u getting public comments on ur stories, i kno its kinda new, but surely it doesnt take people that long to figure things out???

p.s i think this thread wins by far over the "dull thread" as the most boring thread on this board. i even laughed while reading the "dull thread" so it cant have been that dull, unless i am alot sadder than i first thought. but then i dont like to think too often, so that mite have something to do with it.

p.p.s has anyone else noticed that my p.s is actually longer than my main thread content, now that is sad.

welcome, sexy spider.

I rarely ever get public comments. I don't think the feature is hard to use, but as goes with feedback most readers are just a bit lazy. I personally think voting is super easy and yet it still seems to be too much effort for many readers.

I'd like the public comments feature better, if you could check it out before you read a story, but I don't think you can access PC without going through and voting for the story once it's been read. I could be wrong but I think last time I tried, it wasn't an option when opening the story initially.

At any rate...the most feedback I really get is in the first week after the inital posting of the story. The only way I know it is still being read, thereafter, is by the number of views and votes. Feedback is slim, whether public or private, IMHO.

Good luck.

glad to kno im not gettin left behind.

id have been very worried if everyone else was gettin loads.

iv only got one story on so far but another one pending. see if it goes any better.

ur rite, cant see comments til u vote, so judging on how many people take the time to vote, how likely is it that many are gonna manage type a few words?????

just found this on Site Announcements:

"Since we introduced the public feedback feature, we've had a few requests from readers (or authors) who wanted to be able to see which stories have the most feedback.

We thought it was a pretty good idea and so we're getting ready to roll out the new Literotica "Feedback Portal". It's sort of like the Top List area, but for public comments.

You can review the first version here:

http://www.literotica.com:81/stories/feedbackportal.php

If you have suggestions for how to improve it, feel free to drop us a line.

Thanks for all the great suggestions and there are some more new features in the works. More updates soon! "

Lo sexyspiders, welcome to the nuthouse:nana: , pull up a chair a stay a while, I must have a read of your offerings soon.

I have no public comments, and very few feedback emails, but for some reason not one of my crap offerings has fallen below 4.2 in spite of the lack of apparent interest in them. They've all attracted huge reader stats, so someone must like them.

Don't worry too much about feedback and votes though, I only checked my scores for the first time in months tonight as a result of your thread. Not so boring after all, it made me take action.

See ya about friend: pops:D

oooooh i love ur dancin banana!!

my second story is stil pending, it had been rejected the first time, i was distraught. then i read the reason, the file couldnt be opened.

i then remembered i had set a password on the file so nobody else would "bump" into it.

So a little tip for anyone submittin a story:

MAKE SURE THE EDITOR HAS ACCESS!!!

it undoubtedly cuts back waiting time!!

Heh...I've gotten hammered in my public feedback, not to the extent of my e-mailed feedback, but pretty tough at times. Anon seems to be very brave, hiding behind the anonymous sig. I have gotten some constructive critiques too, and usually take them to heart.

"Sexy" and "spiders"... there are two words you don't see in the same sentence very often. Atleast not without the word "not" somewhere within the same sentence.

Hehe

Yes please remove passwords before posting, I've done it myself, not on a story board but in emails, causes all manner of frustration.

So old Anon has been at you then Curious, such a brave soul / soul'ess, and such an insufferable supercilious tit / tit'ess.

(Whispering) I don't know what it means I heard it on the telly last week;)

As for lasting longer when the banana is licked and nibbled, that is very debatable:devil: :D

It's been one in particular...seems to be irritated by my writing for some reason and keeps e-mailing me mostly. Not sure why...and though he amuses me, it is getting a tad old. Oh well...could be worse I suppose...I could not have ever been posted/netpublished I guess and not know the pleasures and pains of being a web based author.

I'm new here too and I just had my first story posted two days ago. Please see my post on the Story Feedback Forum. (https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=229296).
Since I posted the above the numbers now stand at 7 PC, 27 emails and 139 votes.
Here is the url for my first post - (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=129286)
I read your story and I think it fine. You got one of those "H" symbols from the editors or whoever puts them on there.
I'm not sure what the rating means and no one has responded to my question about it so I'll keep looking around until I find the answer.

I'm too lazy to go find the exact on the FAQ section, so please forgive this done off the top of my head....

The H is when you have at least 10 votes, and the rating is over 4.5.

The E is an editor's choice pick. One that the webmistress particularly liked

And there is another letter for contest winners, and at the moment, I can't remember what it is. (Obviously, none of mine have it. *grin*)

Does that help?

Hi there, SexySpiders. Welcome to this crazy place.

One thing, though... I'm a bit concerned about your spider. He appears to be minus four legs. I hope nothing bad happened, I'd hate for my heavies to get involved. I'm leader of the Spider Protection Corps, you see. ;)

Lou :rose:

I just checked my public comments for the first time in weeks I've been getting quite a few. Go figure

hiyall

its great to post such a dull thread and get so many responses, thanks guys.

i thot the H meant Hot, but mayb i was just dreaming.

thanks for the supercilious definition, i had difficulty sleeping last nite because of that. as my dictionary is proping up the rest of my bookcase, i didnt think it was worth the risk.

the spider has only 4 legs because the rest are hidden behind its body. dont worry, no need for the mobs to move in. once i get my av option ill put a proper one on, promise.

im sure my past art teachers would be glad to kno im using my skills on such a site, but then again, u could be them!!!

and pops, to be honest, i prefer oranges, but ill take anything thats going!

>>('.')<< he jus looks stupid now!!

The only problem I have with the public feedback is the voting. I don't think many voters realize that the public comments vote doesnt' count as a story vote. Why the need to have a "vote" in both places? I guess in one way, it's good to have a 'comment' to go with the number, but if you just want to comment and not vote than it automaticly enteres a 50% vote. I'm just not happy with the voting aspect of it in any way (as an author or commenter) and worry that it will cut into the actual votes (the ones that determine ranking and contest elegability/winners and therefore 'count')
