I have the impression that many of you Lits have psychology backgrounds. I was just currious how many there are in the group.

I am a faculty member of a psychology department. Now when I give lectures, I sometimes find myself wondering if there are any Lits in the class:eek:

*smirks*

It depends on where you teach!

Read seXieleSie's signature line:

"I never met a psych major who wasn't into kink" (sic)

:p

Kink

All alittle into Kink?

I'm waiting for some sweet thing to be crossing and uncrossing her legs in class, giving me the briefest glimpses of where.

When this has happened in the past I alway wake-up before more happens. :)

I'm a psychology major and I definetly know what you mean, anyone that's into psych always has that perverted side to them. At least from what I've seen, and knowing myself and my own thoughts too ;)

Seems like they are more in touch with their inner currents and are more open about it.

It would be interesting to have a more lengthy

discussion about the cause. Certainly the anonymity contributes.

Whatever the cause, it is interesting and stimulating. I've asked several questions about things I had no idea about and learned quite a bit.

What do you think?

I have to get back to work now, have some committments to meet tonight. (And Yummy, I know that you're looking. Good night and have fun at work later).

More Open

Hi LovetoGiveRoses,

I was actually making a sweeping generalization about psychology people. Of course any generalization is going to be really wrong sometimes.

But I see your point about Lit as well. I am sure the anonymity contributes to it.

More Psych People

Aren't there any more Psych People here? I thought there were quite a few. I won't name names.

Only one class in community college. I'd probably be more interested in it if my father wasn't a christian therapist.

My mother was a psychology major in college. I personally find the subject facinating, but I didn't want to make a career of it so I ended up in my current degree for a BBA in business economics. Economists ahve great minds too don't ya know! :D

No psych backround here baby.....

But I bet there are women in your classes who fantasize about you....The ones who show up during your office hours the most often are likely candidates..... Take it from someone who has been through grade 19.........

Sciences

No psych but anthro. I've noticed a lot here from the sciences, which is cool. I've yet to run across any geologists, though. What girl doesn't like to find a nice hard rock guy? :)

my degree is elsewhere in the liberal arts, but I have a closet fascination with psychology, as any of us do

Hey there!

I am currently working on my degrees for psychology and applied psychology and then plan to do my masters in clinical psychology.

At this point in time I am working as a counsler....

What psychology class do you teach BrassMonkey?????

Jessi

Yep

Psychology professor here. Teach, among other things, human sexuality. From my experience, sex is a shared pleasure and whatever works for you works. Too much psycho babble and in-depth analysis is not always a good thing. This goes double for Freud who has virtually nothing useful to add to real live sexual realtionships. Communicate, share, be open and that's all you need to get where you want to go.

:)

I have a BS in Psychology. Will have a MAT in Education in May and I'm considering working toward a doctorate in Educational Psychology or Cognitive Psychology.

BA in Psychology and Philosophy from UWM. I also work at a psych hospital - one of the best in the country. PM me if you want details. I'm sure you've heard of us.

I do wonder if some Literotica Member is my class sometimes. Unfortunately you residence graces the wrong body of water.

Once, after class I was asked to dance by on of the coeds. :)

I studied clinical psych. for a semester, I agree, Freud must have had a very mixed up childhood.

I don't use it much in the real world but it helps to understand people and situations. For example a new thread on this forum with +35 views and 0 replies - what does that say to people.

Do you utilize your psych or sociology background in the RW?

I worked as a caseworker in an adult mental health clinic for seven years ( worked with a variety of populations, but mostly poor)...

Today, I do quality assurance for a major home care client and a couple of hospitals... so yes I do use my degree to some extent..

Hi Jessi,

I teach Biopsychology. Some of the lectures are on sexuality. I think they will take on a new aspect after reading this board.

I'm no psych major, took it as part of needed curiculum in college and got an A. But, I did work in a psychiatric hospital for a year. That was a very interesting year. I learned alot about psychology and diseases of the mind. I also met alot of very colorful people, too.

When asked of a patient where his mother lives, he seriously pointed to his leg and said, In there!

Another man came in wearing a fleece jacket. He asked our nurse, Bernie, if he liked it. Bernie says, yeah, its okay. The patient said, very seriously and in a posh way, "Its Racoon!" We couldn't stop laughing after he left.
