FFS, what it this weaksauce of presenting half-arsed efforts, only to have them turned down by a few "disloyal" Republicans ?

Conveniently the rebels are women, and a man that can be forgiven. (McCain was categorized as a- bit- off- of- his- rocker/ imbalanced, before a medical diagnosis confirmed a physical brain disease.)

A woman presented with a penitent's gown- Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, a "good" woman that had lost her way, but came back to the fold! She, also, will be forgiven for trespassing against her male colleagues. Weak minded woman, member of the inferior sex, easily misled by Democrats...

Shelley Capito had once said, “I cannot vote to repeal Obamacare,” adding that she “did not come to Washington to hurt people."

Tuesday, Capito voted to begin debate to repeal and replace Obamacare before there is a clear plan to preserve Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion.'

Sens. Lisa Murkowski (AK) and Susan Collins (ME) repeatedly stood their ground against the three health bills their colleagues tried to ram through the Senate.

Murkowski and Collins were the only Republicans to vote against a motion to proceed with the health care bill debate. Both women cast votes against the Better Care Reconciliation Act, which could have led to 22 million more uninsured Americans. They both also voted against the Obamacare Reconciliation Act — repeal and delay — which could have led to 32 million more uninsured Americans.

It is a Pseudo Conservative Mummer's Play! ooOOOoo! Look, and be a witness to how persistent the New Conservatives were, at pitching battle at Obama's healthcare.

These battles are pitched so low, they are close to a Dumb Show, that is populated by the cast of characters from Punch and Judy!

"For seven years, Republicans have been portraying all that as Democrats shutting them out of the process, writing the bill in a dark room, springing them on it at the last minute, and forcing the vote on Christmas Eve. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has an entire web page devoted to that fiction with the headline "FLASHBACK: Democrats’ ‘Secret’ Closed Door Obamacare Process" screaming across the top."

"That was the fever dream that actually provided the blueprint for McConnell's drive to repeal the ACA."

How heroic! An age old fight, to oppose Democrat's socialist leanings. Hillary. Clinton, the pushy hussy in the White House, trying to provide the unwanted and unworthy with medical care!

oooOOOooo! Sen. McCain walked onto the Senate floor during the roll call and gave a thumbs down to the health care bill — prompting an audible gasp in the chamber!

McCeain voted “no” on the Senate’s so-called “skinny repeal” bill to roll back Obamacare!

Still, before he cast his “no” vote, McCain actually helped advance this legislation. He voted in support to open debate on a bill that he derided his colleagues for calling “better than nothing.” He also gave a dramatic speech earlier this week condemning the fact that the discussions over the bill mostly happened behind closed doors while also making the contradictory claim that Democrats were equally culpable for the

In June 2017, Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii interrupted her treatment and surgery for stage four kidney cancer to come vote against the catastrophic sham of a healthcare plan.

Her speech, that she gave 15 hours, ago- (7/27/2017)

When I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and facing my first surgery, I heard from so many of my colleagues, including so many of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle who wrote me wonderful notes, sharing with me their own experience with major illness in their families or with their loved ones.

You showed me your care. You showed me your compassion.

Where is that tonight?

Where is the care that you showed me when I was diagnosed with my illness? I find it hard to believe that we can sit here and vote on a bill that is going to hurt millions and millions of people in our country. We are better than that. I listened to john mcconnell on us to have hearings, to do the right thing, and I'm just saddened that he was not able to move us in that direction.

I would call on him tonight to vote his conscience, to vote with us, to say, we are going to stand for the millions of people in our country who will be hurt by p what we are contemplating tonight. Mr. President,

I will yield the floor by asking my friends to show the compassion to everybody in this country that you showed me. We all should be voting to send this bill to committee so we can debate it. I yield the floor.

If the skinny repeal bill had passed, the Senate would have spent the next month or two in negotiations with the House. I doubt they could have come up with anything that met the parliamentarian’s requirements and was still acceptable to the House, but maybe they could have. If they did, the result would have inevitably been even more horrendous than the bill that had already failed 43-57. There’s virtually no chance a conference bill could have passed the full senate.

Three weeks ago, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made what he considered his worst threat: if the Senate Republicans didn't pass an Affordable Care Act repeal, they would have to work with Democrats on fixing it.

Over-the-top rhetoric aside, it's time to fulfill that promise. Insurance markets are NOT imploding all over the place, but popular vote loser Donald Trump is going to do his damnedest to make it happen.

Democrats are more than ready with their ideas for strengthening the ACA.

@gsgs: I appreciate your posts but they tend towards TL;DR. Maybe in more bite-size chunks?

Yes, this is what I found to be the most frustrating. I turned the TV off last night at the point at which McConnell was saying the Democrats had refused to come to the table to help with a workable bill. This after he'd closed down on any work on the bill except for a handful of his henchmen--closing out on congressional procedures on business and most of his own party senators, let alone any Democrats. They didn't even let any Democrats speak to the "Skinny Repeal" bill itself last night and didn't speak to it themselves (leaving one lone senator to eat up the time reading from an irrelevant book). Of course they couldn't speak to it themselves because there was nothing in the bill.

Throw the bums out.

Yes, Mitch McConnell having the audacity to whine about getting no help from Democrats. What a lowlife TURD. We all know what he said when Obama got elected. I'm so glad he's been exposed as a fraud.

The congressional GOP has spent most of the past six months trying to cut nearly $800 billion out of a half-century-old program that 70 million Americans rely on for basic health care. They have also worked to erode protections for people with preexisting conditions; increase the average deductible on insurance plans sold over the individual market; and drastically raise premiums for a large swath of their own base, all for the sake of maximizing the amount of tax cuts they can deliver to multi-millionaires.

They have done all this while explicitly promising their own voters that they were trying to do the opposite. McConnell has denounced Obamacare for leaving 25 million Americans uninsured — while working diligently to increase that figure by another 20 million. Ryan has promised to protect people with preexisting conditions, while demanding that his caucus vote to allow states to price nonaffluent cancer patients out of the insurance market.

Shelly Moore Capito vowed to protect her constituents’ Medicaid benefits, and then voted for a bill that would have ended the program as we’ve known it.
