PSA: Yes you can get herpes even if you use a condom!

Five out of the last six days I've had male patients dumbfounded that they contacted HSV because they used a condom and the woman had no sores. But:

1) The virus sheds and is contagious for a period of time before sores are noticeable.

2) Sores may be there and not noticeable even by the woman.

3) You know after you have sex and there's vaginal fluid on the base of your penis where the condom isn't? That's all it takes.

This shit needs to be on TV.



No I do not have herpes though I easily could have caught it in days of yore because I did not know this. I probably should have it.
