14 Brands Of Bottled Water Voluntarily Recalled Due To Potential E. Coli Contamination

Huffington Post | By Alena Hall

The recall affected all spring water products from Niagra's Hamburg and Allentown, Pennsylvania, facilities. There haven't been any reported injuries or illnesses related to the recall, though the company vowed to move their operations permanently. The recall includes all spring water products purchased between June 10 at 3 a.m. and June 18 at 8 p.m. from the two Pennsylvania operations, and the brands affected are: Acadia, Acme, Big Y, Best Yet, 7-Eleven, Niagara, Nature’s Place, Pricerite, Superchill, Morning Fresh, Shaws, ShopRite, Western Beef Blue and Wegmans. Stores recalling the water bottles alongside Niagara Bottling include Wegmans, ShopRite, 7-Eleven and Acme.

I drink OZARKA!

I just checked my bottle of Niagara water. It comes from Ontario, California.

Now I feel really bad. I should send it back to them. They need it more than I do.

Thanks for posting!

I buy either of two local-ish brands that both come from the same source just one state over.

Buy a reusable bottle and filter your own water.
Bottled water is a ripoff.

Way back in 1998 there were record rains in New England. At the time, I only drank tap water and thought bottled water was a giant ripoff. So one day at work everyone was talking about a water ban that was put into effect a few days earlier. Apparently my town had issued a ban on drinking tap water unless it was boiled first. I was completely unaware of this! Persistent and torrential rains had caused sewage to flood the water treatment plant and our drinking water was not fit for consumption.... Except that I had been drinking two liters of it a day unknowingly!

From that day onward, I never drank tap water again.

A similar instance happened in a town I lived in. I drink water more than anything else. I have never went back to tap water. City water is just gross. I like glacieus smart water and now at Walmart there's ubr, you can't get it in bulk though

You can boil and filter water quite easily. Purchasing water in reusable gallon jugs is easy where I live. I try hard to only use the disposable plastic bottles when traveling to avoid unnecessary waste. (Yes, they are recyclable, but it's not always easy to find recycling bins when in an unfamiliar place. Some locations are much better than others.)

We filter tap water with britta. My husband drinks it, but i still have an aversion to tap water after the poop water incident.

So true.

I buy bottled water only when I'm travelling. It's easier on my luggage. Other than that, I try to avoid it.

I don't even buy it then.... I have a drink bottle with a charcoal filter in it. Fill and go :)

This is one of those  threads!

"I never use bottled water!!!" even though billions of bottles are used every year

"I never watch TV!!!" even though they know every show on cable

"I never eat McDonalds!!!!" even though nearly everyone does.

Litsters are the paragons of virtue.

Colorado River Runners in the Grand Canyon both drink out of and piss into the river.

I have charcoal filters on my tap and a reuseable bottle with a filter in it.
I don't own a tv - if I want to watch something I stream on my computer.
I do not eat Macdonalds. Ever. Tastes like sugar. Everything tastes like sugar (found that out many years ago and have never been back.)

Why so hard to believe?

I was referring to long-distance journeys. They don't allow liquids above 100 ml aboard a flight, so I'm forced to buy packeted bottles in airports, trains etc. Other than that, I use a filter for my daily use. :) Buying something when it's not really necessary is a waste. If I can avoid it, I do it.

Oh, BTW, and I've gone to McDonald's exactly once in my life, and still haven't got the time to watch TV. The only show I watch now is GoT.

They relaxed that 100ml rule here, so I've never had a problem taking my own water.
Totally relate to not going to Maccas! I went that once and have never gone back. (I make much nicer burgers anyway :) )
