Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to let the world know that my best friend just had her baby and if I have anything to do with it, he's coming home with me. He's beautiful. Also, if anyone knows where information can be found on birth defects of the hand, I'd love you forever for sharing it with me. My friends a little upset because his hand had the circulation cut off of it while it was forming. Thanks

Congrats on the new baby. There's nothing like a brand spanking new baby that makes you want to hug him and smell him. You have to try Neutragena for Babies, it smells divine! Golly you're making my arms ache!
Sorry no absolutely nothing about birth effects, I'd suggest the obvious and hit every search engine for websites. Then I'd some of those information boards like the ones below and see if they have any info. Another place to check in the millions of new parenting sights out there (see below as well for my fav)

I know the standard bit about being happy that the baby has "10 fingers and 10 toes" but it certainly isn't the end of the world if they don't. My great aunt has had a deformed hand from birth, looks kind of like it just got squished so the fingers grew together and the thumb alone was fine. Would you believe I was a teenager before I realized she had a deformed hand? I remember my mom saying something about it, and I thought she was nuts until I checked the next time I saw my aunt. And I did see her several times a year, so you think I would have noticed somewhere along the way over the years. But I didn't. She functions just like anyone else, no problems. She never knew any different because she'd had the deformed hand from birth.

As for books or sources about the topic, I'd suggest an Internet search to see what you come up with.
