MEN using public transport in recent years have been vilified for “manspreading,” but it turns out women are just as greedy when it comes to taking up space.

Male travellers are hitting back at their female counterparts with accusations of “bagspreading” – where a woman places her handbag on the seat next to her to deter anyone from sitting in it.

More proof that women have more legal rights than men.

Get off the cross. We need the wood.
But I'm right in what I say. So no, I will persist until you admit I'm right.

Women have more legal rights than men. Indisputable fact. This needs to change.

What does any of that have to do with "legal rights"? Maybe I missed it, are guys getting arrested for spreading their legs on the train?

Yup.

Meanwhile women can legally put their bags on other seats, taking up space that others can use. But men are getting busted for "manspreading".

But this isn't the only example.
Women can fight on the front lines but aren't subject to conscription.
Women can rape men and stick them with child support if they get pregnant. In fact feminists say women cannot rape men.
Women can commit paternity fraud, too.
Women have all kinds of government programs for them that do not exist for men.
Women also have the right not to suffer genital mutilation as children.

Let's also not forget the de facto rights such as lower prison sentences than men for the same crimes and lower conviction rates in trial. And the fact that men who are abused by women are not believed, or outright laughed at, even by feminists. ESPECIALLY by feminists.

The story you posted says that the men who were arrested were taken into custody because they had outstanding warrants, not because they were manspreading.

Uhhh

On a recent visit to the arraignment part in Brooklyn’s criminal court, PROP volunteers observed that police officers had arrested two Latino men on the charge of ‘man spreading’ on the subway, presumably because they were taking up more than one seat and therefore inconveniencing other riders. Before issuing a [ticket] for both men, the judge expressed her skepticism about the charge because of the time of the arrests: “12:11AM, I can’t believe many were people on the subway.”

They first got busted for manspreading, then for the warrants.

Meanwhile no doubt women in the same car were left alone while sitting with their bags on multiple seats.

Please explain why women are never harassed by the authorities for doing this shit

"The two arrestees highlighted in the report had previously been issued court summonses for other small crimes, including public urination and being in a park after dark, according to PROP Director Bob Gangi. Neither man showed up in court or paid his fine, so an arrest warrant was issued for each of them. When the officers allegedly saw the men spreading out on the subway and ran their background checks, warrants for the previous petty offenses popped up — and voila, the officers could make the arrests."

Please explain why the police officers FIRST came up on these guys for manspreading, and why they never do this to women who have bags up on their seats.

I'm the wrong person to ask about why cops do anything. They are cops, they do what they want.

Then why did you even jump into this? The article is talking about manspreading laws as an the 'broken windows' form of policing, where police consistently go after someone FIRST over a bullshit statute. The outstanding warrants were a secondary issue.

These guys were facing a fine for manspreading.

Women don't face a fine for taking up extra seats with their bags.

Can you explain why actual feminists saw fit to agitate for this state of affairs?

Machismo thugs deliberately taking up space to provoke and antagonize compared to women putting heavy bags of groceries on unoccupied seats beside them.

Inconsiderate women who can put those bags between their legs...

Hardly fact.
Hardly indisputable.

Rub a lamp.

Damn, you sound like a Trump supporter. I already posted examples to support my points. Then you come along and go "fake news la la la la".

But I've always said feminists and right wingers were the same...

Dude. Seriously. Yes and when I get pulled over I am more likely as a cute white female to be let off with a warning. I'm sure that will make me feel much better when I have my body legislated and my access to healthcare based on someone else's religious views. I know it will make me especially happy when I'm in North Carolina and some asshole decides making out equals consent and it's not rape. I know it will make me very very happy when I am more likely to be convicted and given a harsher sentence for defending myself should my boyfriend or husband ever try to beat me to a pulp or kill me. Oh and while on the subject of domestic violence etc I know that I'll be perfectly thrilled when my rape kit - never tested rape kit by the way - is destroyed before the statute of limitations is up.

But yes, I can set my bags of groceries down and be more likely to get off with a warning and maybe a few other handfuls of items. I'm sure it will make me really feel good to know those after the law treats me like a second class citizen in so many other ways.
