Hi everyone,

My team and I just released our first game. I am of course promoting it on every channel I can think of. Since there are at least a few people here who enjoy my writing, I was wondering if I could promote the game on literotica even if is sold on Steam. Is there anyway to do so respecting the platform's rules and guidelines? Should I avoid doing entirely?

Thank you all upfront.

Are you sure about that? If authors are allowed to promote their books here, why not their game?
Well, yeah, but all those are authors with published stories here. And they promote their stuff by putting the links in their bio, or by adding a link in the forum signature. That kind of promotion is supported by the site.

I can't remember anyone ever creating an actual thread to promote and link their Amazon sales, or their Patreon. I think there's a fine line about how you're supposed to do it, and who can actually do it. I might be wrong, of course.

Edit: I can see that the O.P is an author here, so he can just do the same as everyone - put a link on his "bio" page and add it to his forum signature. I haven't seen anyone doing it differently, but again, I might be wrong. 🤷‍♂️

Plot bunny... Write a short story about a group of people playing your game.

OP could also write a tie-in piece that expands on the game’s setting, such as a story about a particular character that takes place some years prior and provides more background, etc.

Just need to make sure it works as a standalone story, lest it runs afoul of the “no teasers” rule.

Tell us your game’s name and subject. You might pick up new players and maybe even earn a fanfic if someone is inclined.
I'd love to do that :)

The game is called "the Queen of Phalli" and it is a branching novel about a society of dark elves women ruled by futa priestesses. Elifael, the young protagonist (99 yo) must prepare for the baptism, a ceremony where she will finally lose her virginity. The problem is that the "ritual" will be performed by the matron of her house, 2,83 metres of woman (in heels) with a proportionate member. To help her pass this test, Elifael can rely of the support of her bossy senior Nefail, her loving but manipulative senior Synafae, or her beloved human maid Maryl.

I strived to make this truly engaging to read, with strong worldbuilding, sexy but not shallow characters, and a fair amount of both humour and drama.

The whole game is more than 268000 words long, with branching paths, hidden scenes, four different endings (+1 bad ending) and is fully illustrated by an underpaid but extremely talented Argentinian artist.

The game has alrrady released on steam and is doing quite well. Still we are fighting hard to win the algorithm war. Any recommendation we get is a huge boost to our effort.
