Human Individual Liberty, Individual Freedom, is a rare virtue around the world even today in 2012.

The United States of America, arising from the thirteen colonies of early America, a British Colony, fought for Independence from Great Britain and established a new nation that startled the entire civilized world at the time.

The first departure in all of human history of rule by the force of Kings, Tribal Leaders, Religious dictatorships, all of whom imposed the will of a few on the many.

It was only in America where the individual rights of each was stated and protected and the ‘State’ functioned only by permission of the people and under a strict definition of what the State, the Government was empowered to do.

The creation of the United States of America was not unanimous among those chosen to represent each individual Colony.

The documents that emerged, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, along with the Bill of Rights, was hotly contested between those who wanted a small government and those who wanted a large one.

The History of the United States, from the beginning to now, has been a continuing conflict between those who wish to maintain a small, non intrusive government and those who want a larger, more invasive and intrusive government to influence and guide the lives of its citizens.

There was an equal ebb and flow between the two opposing ideologies until about the turn of the century from 1890 to 1906.

During that era, an increasingly influential ideology arose, that of Progressivism, a term that included the tenets of socialism and social democracy.

That combination of ideas accumulated to oppress the individual rights enumerated by the Declaration and the Constitution and replace the individual rights of life, liberty and property, with the group or social orientation and the imposition that social rights were of greater importance than individual rights.

The decline in individual liberty progressed through the administrations of Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

Programs such as the Income Tax, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and now socialized medicine in the Obama administration are clear and irrefutable incursions on individual liberty and the spirit and letter of the Constitution of the United States.

One is led to believe that these unconstitutional programs are well intended to serve the needs of the people, when in fact they weaken the very foundation of this nation and turn citizens into being dependent upon the Federal and State governments for their existence.

Being dependent on government for food, hosing, medical care and employment has destroyed the individual incentive to be responsible for his own individual existence and turned him instead towards standing in line for welfare checks and benefits from government agencies.

The tone and substance of what you are being taught in school today, at all levels from elementary to college level, is an acceptance that service to the greater good through the sacrifice of individual goals, dreams and aspirations is what your goals would be, is destructive of your self esteem, how you value your own dreams and sense of life.

To my very young writing friends who see and feel the hopelessness around you and choose or consider withdrawing, rebelling or dropping out, I can offer you source material to better understand your plight, but I can offer no recipe or religious tracts to memorize to blind you towards what is going to happen.

Author notes

Four more years of this administration will tip the scare from a partly free nation that America is now. into a socialist democracy that will change tthe emtire character of America from an independent people to and European style socialist
country in which individual choices will be increasingly limited.

You must stop this and you are the generation upon which this monumental task has fallen.

I wish you courage and valor and dedication to t he principles of individual human liberty. Godspeed and grace...amicus veritas

A Call to Action a true purpose for your life.

Amicus has failed.

We held a referendum yesterday on your hellish version of America.

The majority of Americans rejected your pseudolibertarian nonsense.

The people have spoken, but you're still not listening.

What you don't realize, however, is that it works both ways: you're tuning America out, and America is tuning you out.

Best wishes yelling at clouds for the next four years....if you live that long.

Wow, what a piece of pseudo-intellectual garbage.

Also, who is that self-centered that they put a circle c at the end of a forum post?

Douche rating: Though the fucking roof.

If there's one thing that I'm not dependent on the government for, it's hosing.

I get virtually all my hosing from Lowe's or Home Depot.

The Downsouth Derp scale, used to rate the relative insanity of RWCJ posters, typically uses a scale consisting of levels ranging from 1 to 10. We make a very special classification for Amicus, Level 11, to acknowledge his absolute and complete divorce from reality.

"We are not going to have a Supreme Court that will overturn Roe Versus Wade. There will be no more Antonin Scalias and Samuel Alitos added to this Court. We're not going to repeal Health Reform. Nobody is going to kill Medicare and make old people in this generation or any other generation fight it out on the open market to try to get health insurance. We are not going to do that. We are not going to give a 20% tax cut to millionaires and billionaires and expect programs like food stamps and kid's insurance to cover the cost of that tax cut.

"We'll not make you clear it with your boss if you want to get birth control under the insurance plan that you're on. We are not going to redefine rape. We are not going to amend the United States Constitution to stop gay people from getting married. We are not going to double Guantanamo. We are not eliminating the Department of Energy or the Department of Education or housing at the Federal level. We are not going to spend $2 trillion on the military that the military does not want. We are not scaling back on student loans, because the country's new plan is that you should borrow money from their parents.

"We are not vetoing the Dream Act. We are not self-deporting. We are not letting Detroit go bankrupt. We are not starting a trade war with China on Inauguration Day in January. We not going to have, as a President, a man who once led a mob of friends to run down a scared, gay kid, to hold him down and forcibly cut his hair off with a pair of scissors while that kid cried and screamed for help and there was no apology, not ever. We are not going to have a Secretary of State, John Bolton. We are not bringing Dick Cheney back. We are not going to have a foreign policy shop stocked with architects of the Iraq War. We are not going to do it. We had the chance to do that if we wanted to do that, as a country. And we said no, last night, loudly."

Unfortunately for all Americans, Amicus is speaking the truth. Study your history! This country was founded on individual liberty, a willingness to work towards empowerment, and a desire not to have to answer to the man!

With the development of the majority of these social programs we have created our own downfall, an economic recipe for disaster. Those who find themselves willing to receive more than give are the new subjugated serfs and your life will never measurably improve until you step to the head of the line and say my destiny is what I make of it.

There is something super creepy about an old dude who uses a little girl as his AV.

Hello golden Lover and thank you. It is a sad commentary I offer concerning the downfall of a once proud nation, but not an unexpected one. Women, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and old European Mafia type Union have demolnstated they can overfule th e whit e majority who founded and built this nation.

It is not that I advocate violence to regain our lost liberties and expell these minorities from the power they have stolen, it is that I see the coming violemce as inevitable and I merely warn of the consequences.

Parsites, which isall the lesbian racheal maddow touts, will starve when the host departs as in Galt's Gulch, then they turn to cannibalism; they eat their own children now, the weak and infirm will be the next sacrificial goats to the platform of the greater good.

I need not remind those of yoiu who know that I speak truth, I can only urge you to plan for at least a two year survival store and stock and weapons and ammo to protect your stash from the metropolitan cannibals soon to be loosed upon society or what is left of it.

I will have two new novels out this winter that detail the downfall and what happens to the rest of the pukes on this page.

Amucus (sp?), is this an audio commentary, like your last one? Can you post the link to the audio?

Amicus, when it comes to the economic decline of the USA I am with you. That is a decline from which we likely won't recover. You lost me, however, on the why! Your racist rant loses all credibility with me. Our country was founded by minorities. At least when they first arrived, they were minorities. Our nations founding fathers argued that all men were created equal.

Now there are a significant number of people who have born the burden of proving as well as ensuring that concept during our country's history. As for theft, I can only say that I am glad I was not a Native American when Jamestown was founded or a black man when the first slave ships arrived in western Africa.

This country was built on the backs of immigrants and minorities. We were fortunate that our founding fathers wrote a document that ultimately provided a system which allowed the greatest number of people to prosper over time. The problem is what has happened over time with the level of spending of our elected leaders and the unwillingness of the populous to hold them to account for their absolute devastation to our way of life.

If you want to speak of racism, then let's do so intelligently! I would argue that entitlement programs like food stamps, AFDC, never ending unemployment benefits, and subsidized housing are racism at its worst. Now I cannot speak to the racial make up of those entitlement recipients but a significant number if not a majority of them are minorities.

Does anyone really believe that a system designed by 'the man' that does not require some personal accountability for a work ethic and a credible path to a self sustaining life is nothing but another form of racism. It's time that we embraced the concept that our founding fathers put in place; all men are created equally and each of us should be held accountable to contributing and participating regardless!

psssst... the biggest " ethnic" group on food stamps is WHITEY

Immaterial! The argument is still valid if you are a minority!

The system discourages independence, independence of thought, development of talent. If you happen to be a minority then that is just another hurdle put in place by the man!

And you can speak of raw numbers all day. Statistically that does not make your point! By percentages, I would argue more minorities are in the lower income strata and therefore likelier to partake of entitlement programs. If you design a system that does not provide a way out; a credible path to obtain your piece of the American dream and don't respect that person enough to require that be be hd to account for his individual effort then you make the assumption he is not capable or worthy and not only is that racist it is disrespectful to your personal dignity as a human being. I find that personally reprehensible and it should stop now! It is completely unAmerican!

Universal healthcare increases freedom. When Americans get the healthcare they need, they're freer to work. Their mobility increases. They don't have to rely on others so much both personally and financially. Americans are far more free to live successful lives when their finances aren't wiped out due to medical debt.

The problem with amicus is he sees no valuable contributions being offered to world by anyone other than white, straight, males.

He presents Obama's coalition as totally shiftless. There is a huge element of that behind his support but there are also many educated, hard working, people in the Blue column.

Asians, in particular, are an exceptional example of success as can be achieved by immigrants to America. The melting pot still produces. Poor amicus doesn't see that side of it.

This was essentially Mitt's position and look what happened. It turns out that attacking the electorate isn't a very good strategy for winning elections. But in his defense, how could he have possibly known that?

The 'way out' is to go to school, graduate, then learn to do something people will pay for. The last time I checked Niggaz can go to school, go to college, or learn a trade. Sixty years after Brown v Board of Education the Nigga still aint figgered it out.

SKEWL? WAZ DAT?

Nonononono, you don't GET it. The ONLY freedom that is actual Freedom™ is the freedom from Government!
