Programmer has two password guesses left to save his $240 million of Bitcoin.

My mattress is the safest place on Earth to store MY money.

And then the mattress in question caught fire...

That's actually closely analogous to what happened, what bitcoin was about, originally at least to be YOUR money independent of any bank or authority at all. It's digital cash, cash in the extreme (although it's now morphing more into trading instrument than currency in traditional sense). It's actually so extremely cash that once lost it wouldn't be ever reinstated, the loss would reduce the total volume of bitcoins in existence, and that's a finite, mathematically limited amount.

But, it's not someone's savings account he's locked out of. It's rather a lottery ticket he's remembered about when the numbers come up. The value on that drive went from something like $14,000 to $240,000,000 in under ten years with huge, sharp and unpredictable ups and downs and is anticipated to go up at least another order of magnitude if not two in next few years. So it's probably $50B in 2025 money he's about to burn.

The news are not so great at the moment. Especially for people who have invested in crypto. In my opinion it is going to change very soon and i am thinking to purchase a crypto trading license from https://rue.ee/. The investment amount is a joke to compare with the amount which you ca actually earn after a while.
