Alright, it looks like we have a few folks on the ol' board who consider themselves sportsfans.

So I have decided to put up a thread in which you will have the opportunity to put your money where your mouth is(Which should be somewhere on your face)

For our first challenge I think we should see who can call tonights game, so throw in your guesses for the score. The closest to it will get, uh, points of some kind.

I'll weigh in with a 104-93 Lakers victory

Oooh and in case of a tie, answer this question

1. How many times will we see Phil Jackson, on camera, bitching about the officiating?

Prognostimacation

Hey! Are you drinking right now? Or am I drinking? That doesn't sound right!

93-86 Lakers

and

12 times

I'm happy for the rectification
Of that whole situation!
It caused me some confustication
And a lot of botheration!

103-99 Sixers.

Phil Jackson will be seen jabbing officials 10 times.

Well, I'm going to throw in my guess for tonight's score on the game. I predict the Sixer's will win by a score of 99 - 86. As for Phil Jackson, I do believe they'll show him a total of 9 times whining about the officiating. And, just to make it even more special....they'll show him 7 times cursing, too. ha!

Have a great evening, all, and whatever the outcome, we've all had a bit of fun with this.

See ya.

Lakers 90 Sixers 84

We'll see Uncle Phil 11 times.

BTW, does Larry Brown look like Mr. Roper from Three's Company these days, or is it just me?

Well I have no idea how to judge this but I'll give the first 25 EBW Prognostimacator Points to Mars99 who came closest to predicting a 5 point Laker win.

By my count I saw Phil bitching 5 times.

WOOHOO!! I never win anything! Robert Horry is my new hero. What a game, though! I'm still catching my breath.

Well you are the first winner.

Next game is now wide open to more Amateur Prognostimacators!!!

My sincere Congratulations to you, Mars99. You played one tough game, well, the Laker's did, too. ha!

"Ode to the Sixer's"

Don't count us out,
Don't count us down
Sixer's rule to the end
In game 7, we'll be around!!!

We're bruised and battered
Broken bones pinned and wrapped
Still we come out with spirit
Our determination can't be strapped.

Iverson will run circles
Around Kobe, Shaq, and Lue
Eric Snow will pretend
He's got rocket fuel in his shoes.

We'll see you in Game Four
We'll meet you on the court
You'll wish you were surfing
Riding waves in your shorts.

When the Sixer's enter the arena
The crowd will stand and cheer
For they've played with their hearts
They have nothing to fear

GO SIXER'S!!!

WildHoney(I was feeling very poetic about my Sixer's this morning)

How could we know????? The game is in Philly.

You are SO SWEET, Wild Honey! I'm not quite as eloquent as you but this is the best I can do:

There once was a center named Shaq
Who fouled out but his team still came back
The Sixers hung tough but they weren't good enough
Now their future is looking quite black. :)

See you in game 4!

Mars99,

This information was given to me by someone who knows.....The Sixer's are practicing their free throws as we speak. They've been told to dream them, live them, become one with the ball. ha! Well, not quite that, but you get the picture.

By the way, I enjoyed your limerick.

Hope you're all having a great day.

GO SIXER'S!

WildHoney

WHoney,

Shaq borrowed the free throw shooting magic potion last night but knowing him, he'll give it right back next game. I hear Lynch might be back for the Sixers next game. Think he'll help?

Here's another limerick for you:

There once was a girl named WildHoney
Whose posts were always so funny
Her team was OK but I hope anyway
That she didn't bet all of her money.

Just kidding! You deserve to be proud of them. Last night could've gone either way.

Mars99,

I enjoyed your new limerick very much. That was so nice of you to write it. The way my afternoon went, that was the perfect way to end my day - it put a smile on my face and for that I am grateful. That was the sweetest thing that happened to me today. Thank you!

I figure that Lynch sees all the rest of the guys playing injured, he doesn't want to feel left out. ha! But that is news to me, since I've not heard that.

At this point, they need to stay focused on the game at hand and they need to make those foul shots and follow through under the basket.

Now, with this written, I'm going to say good night and have a cup of tea and a tastykake cupcake. My sister had a box shipped to me for the playoffs so that I could feel like I'm home. I love my sister.

By the way, I didn't overextend myself....I only bet the house, the car, the cat, my tastykakes......ha!

Have a wonderful rest of the evening.

WildHoney

WHoney,

Tastykakes are great! I remember them from New York. There's a lot of East Coast things I miss out here. Linden's cookies, Nathan's hot dogs, A&P grocery stores. Oh, and relatively clean air too :)

Glad you liked my poem! I enjoyed writing it for you.

Rebounds are a key for the Sixers. Shaq seems to be grabbing them at will. I think Iverson needs to drive to the hoop more to get some quick fouls on him. Honestly, though, the Lakers are winning and Kobe isn't even playing that well. If he heats up I think it's lights out. See ya tomorrow. It's fun to have a Sixer fan to discuss this with!
