Would you rather look for someone's profile pic and find a generic face shot (with...gasp!...clothes ;)) or would you rather find a pic of the bb member naked? Or something like one of Julieangel's famous parts pics?

The jury's out here. I love Indy and Havoc's profile pics ('cuse me while I mop up the drool)...but I just adore KillerMuffin's picture too...

So...whadda ya think? :D

Your Pics......

....are pretty hot too. I really wouldn't mind slipping in between......well, I will just keep my fantasies. :)

I think you had the perfect profile pic a while back (you know the one :)) You were dressed sexily, and I thought it summed you up better than any (admitedly hot! ;)) naked picture could...sexy, smart, naughty and thoughtful. That would be my choice. :)

do we have a blushing icon? :)
thanks TH and FD

BUT...what about the profile pics in general??? What do you like to see?

Something I posted before for all the ladies of lit....

I would do more than kiss you..
I would embrace you with clouds
hold you with hot winds
taste you with the tongues of flowers
and want you to sleep in my dreams.

Doesn't matter to me, as long as there is something there. Any pic tells a bit about your personality, much better than just the written description.

pics...

Dang it, if I could figure out this gizmo I would be able to look at more pics of people here... I love being able to see everyone.. I like both kinds of pics. I love Juspars pics and Thumpers pics were all that as well. I like to see who I am talking to or who I am reading. That is why I want my pic up. I guess if you can see someone, you feel a little bit more comfortable talking to them. Also, if there is flirting going on, it's nice to have thatmental image in your head.

Hey, I just figured out you can't get to the profile pix by clicking on the profile icon in the posts. You have to actually go to the members list to look the person up! Or am I missing a trick to "getting there from here"?

Cheyenne, I don't think it's been implemented yet. I'm pretty sure that's one of the improvements Laurel and Manu are working on.

Cheyenne

Dead righ there, it sux.

There are (I think) three different ways of getting onto a member profile that I have found, and each gives you different information. Not only that but there is more than one place to edit your profile, so some people don't even know you can add pics or fill in the location line.

As far as kids finding your pics here . . . if they want to go to a porn site, well, wise up I say.

I'm off now to change my pic to one that suits me better, tells you more about me.

Good question Countess

This is how I feel about profile pictures. When I look at them I assume the member selected that picture of themself to reflect something about their personality (besides confidence in posting). If it is a 'profile', 'glamour' or 'naked' picture it is what that member wanted to share and express.

My choice to see in the profile section would always be non-naked. I want to meet the person first before their body.

What Indy said...

It is unfortunate, but those of us who have higher profile clients and jobs (not celebrity, mind you, but high profile nonetheless) just can't risk having our pictures posted on an erotic website.

There is also that unhappy feeling of possibility that my parents and ex-professors from college are on now the web, and should they find my image staring back at them from this site, it would inspire conversations that would have given Freud nightmares. “No, really mom, it’s not a PORN site, but an EROTIC site…” Oedipus wept…

Plus, I have to say that for some of us, posting pics on ANY site doesn’t appeal. I mean, even if this were the Disney Spiritual Sisters of Peace website or something equally inoffensive to all, I don’t necessarily feel comfortable with my image just floating out there. Maybe it’s a last stubborn human raspberry to thwart technology, who can tell? If I email a pic to someone, well, that is different. All they have is a file. To post a pic here, though, would feel completely inappropriate to me.

That said, I have to admit, the times I have been drawn to a profile pic, I'm not really looking for the nudity or the face, or anything specific really. I'm looking for something that gives me an insight to the person.

Take, Weird Harold, for instance - standing with all those Disney gals. Now come on, that is just adorable! Here’s this crotchety little answer man in my head, and then poof…he’s standing with Snow White. It’s priceless.

I'd rather see a flash of insight into the individual than an assembled glint of body parts or "say cheese" smiles. No that there’s anything WRONG with that, but I say if you're going to post a pic, be creative!

I'm still waiting for Jusper's "hat trick" after all ;)

I really feel uncomfortable with the idea of posting any picture at all. I haven't yet at any site, and I don't plan to start.

There is the little fact, too, that I'm not at all young, gorgeous or glamorous and really quite ordinary.

I like being a figment of everyone's imagination.

That said, anyone who is comfortable with the idea should do it.

As far as profiles go, I prefer to see people with clothing on. At first at least. :)

If I am looking in someone's profile, I am attempting to learn more about them because they have sparked my interest. A nudie shot I want after I know them better.

Thank you, Indy.

Would it surprise you to find that my very favorite landscape is the desert -- particularly Death Valley?

Once the bottom of an ocean . . .

I prefer a candid, albeit clothed, shot over full frontal nudity in the Profiles section. Every now and then, I click on a profile and BAM! no more secrets. It's almost like walking into a public place and finding a naked person standing there.

If I want to see a member in all of his (or her) splendor, I check the amateur pics section or the person's web page.

LOL!

It's interesting that you should choose the Snow White picture to comment on, because that's the one my granddaughter took. (age five at the time.)

The picture in my profile is with Eeyore, and I got a lot of jokes about "who is the guy in the hat, Eeyore?" when I posted it.

In the profile, I too prefer a picture that tells me something about how the person wants to be perceived -- something that helps me get to know them. If they show some skin as well, then so much the better. Still, I'd rather see a face than some anonymous body part.

It's interesting that there are so many posts from women complaining that men don't look them in the eye, yet many of the women's pictures in the profiles are of the body part they complain about men concentrating on instead of their eyes.

A suggestion for those who are worried about their faces being see: Most image processing software includes the capability to convert a photo to a semblance of a chalk or colored pencil drawing. Used judiciously, such a conversion can produce a picture that is recognizably you, yet impersonal enough that it could be many other people as well.

I'd much rather see that sort of picture of a face than I would a closeup of your cleavage. Cleavage is nice, but faces tell me more about you.

The Countess

Ms. DeWinter, your profile pic, though clothed, is stunning!
Those have to be the most beautiful nipples I've never seen!!
