Problem with signs of Quotation

I am using Star Office 6.0.
Since a few weeks Chyoo is changing all my Signs of Quotation in question marks.
When I inside a story everything is ok, but at the time the story is approved the problem occurs.
I have no idea what is happening and how to change it.
Its messing my new threads up.

Someone got an idea?

CHYOO cannot handle "Smart Quotes" which automatically curve in the correct direction. You need to use straight quotes instead.

For this reason, I generally use WordPad to compose my CHYOO documents, as I prefer smart quotes in my other work and don't want to adjust the settings on Word. WordPad comes with Windows 2000 - I am not familliar enough with other Windows versions to know if it's available in 98 or XP. It's just as good as Word for simple things like this.

Another thing you can do is go through your threads once you paste them into CHYOO and replace all the quote marks and apostrophes there. I do this for incoming threads when necessary.

It's just one of the many little things wrong with CHYOO thatwill never be fixed because there's never any response when we complain about these things. But, you get what you pay for.

It is just strange that this problem occures only since a few weeks.
Before that i had no problems and i am using the same programm.

Think i will change the marks after I put the story in.

Word Settings

I changed the settings in word and it eliminated the problem for me. Here are the changes that worked for me.

The menu path on my word is:

Tools
Autocorrection
AutoFormat as you type
Uncheck "Straight Quotes with Smart Quotes"

Another quick solution

Here's what I do:

-1- Write the story in Word (With the smart quotes on)

-2- Copy the Word document

-3- Paste it into Notepad (found under Accessories)

-4- Copy the Notepad version

-5- Paste it into CHYOO

Haven't had a problem since!
