"private SRP threads"

I make this observation periodically. If you want to "play" in private, by all means do it through E-mail, phone, tin cans and string. It gets a bit tiresome to click on a thread and find that it is private between two players. This phenom comes and goes in waves. Although I have been too busy, lately, to post, it still is an annoyance - and a real turn off for new players.

LTNS... I'll admit in the past I was guilty of a couple of private RPs, but they typically started out private to get a story line going without confusion and then we would add others who were interested. I have a habit of liking RPs to flow more like a story than to have several smaller "plots" running all at once, in the same thread, stepping over each other.

I've got an OOC going on over at the SRP board to see if there is a large enough interest for a Pirates of Dark Water thread. I tried one around Dec. last year in the ORP board, but saddly it died rather fast.
