That must be a bit special.

I have only had one pm ignored. I got over it though.
I had one ignored also
but to be fair, i did say that a reply wasn't necessary.. I was just making a comment.

and yes.. it's a very special one.

I wonder if you have one saved from the same person I do ;)

If it is the phone I would say no, I doubt it, I lost that phone number a few years ago and it has not been given to me again. If it is one of the stories anything is possible :)

well...

ummmm what if you haven't ever gotten a P.M.?

Then send someone a pm. So long as you aren't obscene you'll probably get one back. Maybe even if you are obscene (you never know with these people).

I think it is a little rude to not reply at all to an unsolicited post, but we can all be rude from time to time.

If the natural run of the conversation is over, then I just don't reply. If the other person wants to talk about something still then they can start a new discussion.

though I have had a few disgustingly sexual ones that I was glad to reply to!

Same here, but they weren't exactly unsolicited ;)

Depends on if it's some creepy person hitting on you and asking for sex..

I always reply back and try to be prompt, although it doesn't always work out that way. The exception is they're obnoxious and rude.

Is it rude not to reply to unsolicited messages?

When a sequence of messages seems over do you sign off or just end it by not replying?

Do you use the folders available?

Hey there. Ah, the joys of PMs!

Ok, I have to confess, I do send unsolicited PMs but I avoid the 'Hey, my dick is 10" when it's hard' kind. Just the same I consider it an unwritten rule if you send an unsolicted message you aren't guaranteed a response. Frankly sending an unsolicted PM is rude anyway so not responding isn't exactly being mean.

As far as signing off I try to as much as possible, just so the person I"m talking with knows 'Hey, gotta go'. On the other hand if the conversation becomes VERY brief and consists of 2 or three word sentences, I will at times just let the conversation die. Hey, nothing that important was being said so it ends.

1. I don't think so, but I haven't not replied yet.

2. Usually I sign off, but not always.

3. No, I usually delete stuff. I'm the same way with all kinds of electronic messages.

I have a "Saved Messages" folder in which I put particularly juicey PMs... hot PMs... PMs with some sort of information that I really want to remember about a person that I am just getting to know.

1. it depends what sort of things are in the message to begin with.

2. most of the time when i'm due to sign off for a long period of time i'll warn the person i'm chatting to i'm going offline. when i have nothing left to say to the person i'm too polite and will keep chatting regardless.

3 i have a few messages i've saved but they're nothing important that can't be gotten rid of.
