James Kyle looked at her from across his desk. She was a real beauty, long black hair wrapping around an almost too pale face, ice blue eyes, and cherry red lipstick that made him hungry. Her body, from what he could tell sitting down, was flawless. But that was just a guess.

"What can I do for you Ms.?" James asked.

"Selene. My name is Selene." She said.
Her voice carried a soft accent that wasn't quite English, close but it sounded much older that that, feminine though.

"I would like to hire you as a bodyguard." She explained, keeping her words short, sweet, to the point. James liked that about cilents.

James raised his eyebrow. "Bodyguard? I'm sorry, Ms. Selene I'm no bodyguard. I am a detective that's all. I'm afraid I am not qualified to be any kind of bodyguard."

She smiled, a bare hint of her teeth, almost as if she was trying to hide them. "MY name is Selene. And you will be more than qualified after I provide you with...well you'll see."

James sat back and crossed his arms over his chest. "Ok, Selene. Tell why you even need a bodyguard."

(OCC: Vampire story open for everybody and anybody.)

Selene

Selene tapped her sharp crimson nails on the arm of the chair. "I'm powerful," she said simply. "Very powerful, and there are certain...beings...out there that do not like the power that I hold. They want to destroy me, and though I can withstand them now, they are growing in number. I have many guards stationed, but they prefer to stay in one place. I need somebody to travel with me." Selene gave him a long, lingering look. "A...companion...of sorts." She leaned forward, ice blue eyes boring into the man's warm ones. "What do you say, Mr. Kyle? Are you intrigued yet?"

OOC: Hope that's okay for now.

Selene

Her reply was left dangling on purpose. He was all she had right now. Her powers were strong and she could under normal circumstances, manipulate him. But, if she attempted to use those powers they would find her and right now that was not what she wanted.

She was silent as if thinking of a good excuse. He sat back and clasped his hands together over his stomach.

He cleared his throat. "I'll ask again. Why do you need a bodyguard?" He was getting impatient.

This woman could either explain what her deal was or she could get out...although he was hurting for cash at the moment...maybe it would be worth it.

The frustrastion welling up inside her was enormous.

"Look, I need help. I need someone who knows his way around and can use various means to subdue those that intend to cause me harm. You were the first person I was referred to and was almost given a guarantee that you would help me. Im desperate Mr. Kyle. I can pay you for your time. Money is no object. Besides, being my companion would have its privledges" she said tipping him a wink.

Her eyes twinkled. As she leaned back into the chair she was sitting, she crossed her legs, letting the fabric of the too short skirt ride higher on her thighs.

"I can make it all worth your while in anyway you want" she said. Her voice a seductive whisper.

James leaned forward again. "Don't try to tempt me with sex miss. If you want my services fine, but the going rate is two thousand a day." He raised his eye brow as if excepting her to refuse the price. He had made it up off the top of his head, but it was the right amount for him to pay off his debts if she needed him for as little as a few days.

Smiling, she continued to sit lewdly in the chair.

"I never said anything to the contrary Mr. Kyle. No one mentioned sex at all. I was simply stating that anything I could do to get your help I would. And at two thousand a day, done. Would you like weekly payments or a lump sum. I am guessing two maybe three months for certain, after that, well, we will deal with that when the time gets here" she said. Selene was little to be amazed. She was scared. She needed someone with her at all times and the people she had around her just werent trustworthy enough.

His lean back again and fished a payment contract out of the right hand drawer of his desk. "tell you what." He set the sheet paper down and wrote out a sum of ten thousand dollars. "Let say ten thousand up front to cover the intial week. Then every seven days you cut me a check for another ten thousand." He wrote everything out and slide it over to her to sign.

While she fished a pen out of her bra he reached under the desk and removed his trusted nine milimeter hollow point bretta, and tucked it in the wiast band of his pants.

His eyes roamed the room, she seemed genuinely spooked. Whomever was after her must be some badass dudes if she was willing to pay fourty thousand a month just for him. She either had a lot of confidence in his skills or someone lied to her about him.

He turned and looked out the windowcheck for anything unusall but aside from her BMW and his beat up Cheavy F150 there was nothing outside. Of course out front could be a bit different.

Selene noded in the right spots and signed the contract agreeing to the terms.

She was a little nervous of course. There were things about that this man, this human, could not understand but, she needed him. Whatever had brought her to him, it was by the Gods chance and fate. She tested not the Gods nor those she had gotten her powers from either.

Her confidence wanned as he looked out the side window. They would not hesitate to storm through any widow to get to her.

"Good, now that we have agreed on this contract of sorts, we shall go to my place and get you settled in. I am in no hurry though. Perhaps there is someplace you would like to go first?" she asked. He fascinated her. She was curious. That was a real problem in most undead now days, but she was so young when she became undead. Curiosity had however, made her what she was at this very moment sitting in her short skirt and revealing blouse in front of an obviously hungry male.

He looked down at the signed papers she had slid back to him. She was agreed to pay what he had asked for. Which was good for him, because his debt was over assuming she had the means to pay.
"Alrighty then, you'll ju.." He glance up from the papers. What had froze him was a tiny red dot on her forehead. A red dot like from the sight of an automatic rifle. Two things crossed James' mind at that point, first was he should have asked for more money. Secondly, he needed to move quickly and right now.
He cried out as he launched himself over the desk, effectively tackling her, topling her chair backwards so that thy both landed on the floor just as machine rifle fire burst through the room in a thunderous roar of bullets and breaking glass.
James rolled off of her. "Stay down." He commanded as he yanked the bretta from his waistband. The bullet kept coming and they shreaded the door of his office. He rolled her off the chair and tossed the chair aside. She stayed down on the floor as he gripped the bottom of his desk and pulled. It was a heavy desk but it was on small wheels, so he was able to muscle it to the doorway. Once there he shoved Selene out the door and rolled out himself.
The front hallway was quiet like they had not made it to this side, whomever was shooting at them. He grabbed Selene's arm and ran down the hallway toward the front, but flashlight beams shine through the front windows stopped him and he turned her back down the hallway stopping at his partner Jim Tolley's office. the office's were the same and James grabbed a large paper weight and hurled it through the window. Outside Jim's offices was a maitence ladder that led to the roof and he nudged Selene up the ladder and followed himself quickly.
On the roof James motiong her to lay flat on the roof, he hadn't heard any helicopters so most likely they will see the broken window in Jim's office and assume they got away.

Anger suddenly ripped her body to pieces as the bullets pierced the walls. They ran. On the roof, he told her to stay down but she would not comply. Standing, she turned slowly, speaking her own language. She summoned the power within her. She summoned the Gods above and below. The rage she felt poured out of her in an instant and the hitmen quited. Walking to the edge of the building she stepped on to the 6 inch ledge. Her eyes, once a piercing blue, were now raven black. Her face, drawn in a scowl was deathly white. The wind seemed to whip about her as she walked the ledge.

Hearing the popping from below, she lowered her gaze. The cars, her BMW, his Chevy truck were getting torn to bits under her rage. She could not stop just yet. She wasnt finished.

She stepped from the ledge to the air around it. Hovering, she screamed. The sound itself reverberated from her body and the windows that werent broken shattered. Then it ceased. She was back on the top of the building. No wind. No bullets, nothing.

Turning to him she spoke. Breathless and tired "it isnt safe to go down just yet, they are still there. We must hurry though. I only intended to scare them" she said. Without warning, she dropped to her knees. Now she must feed. After what he had just witnessed, how would he take that?

The whole tim eshe had done her little show James was screaming at her to get down. Then she cried out and everything exploded. He heard the windows shatter and car tires pop. Car alarms blaze adn the world seemed to end, then everything was quiet. It was so sudden and apurt that for a second James felt he had gone deaf.
He stood up slowly and cleared his throat. No he wasn't deaf he could hear just fine. He turned to her as she came up to him.
"What the fuck just happened?" He asked.

Tears. Tears ran down her cheeks.

"It is the reason I need you Mr. Kyle. I need protection. They want me dead and I cannot have it. There are things, Mr. Kyle, in this world no one can explain. People on the streets you notice out only at night. People who do not look just right. People with something to hide. I am one of those people Mr. Kyle. We are undead. Nosferatu. Vampires." she said. The last word hovering about her like a second skin.

James blinked. "Vampires?" He sighed. so much for his money, this woman was crazy.

Yet.

That didn't explain why these people were after her, obviously trying to kill her. "If you're a vampire, who are these nut jobs trying to kill you?" He said, not beliving for one freaking secodn the vampire bullshit.

Laughing loudly, she turned to look him in the eye. As she stood, she righted her clothing and walked to face him eye to eye.

She leveled her face, which had lost all expression.

"You see only part of the world. There is another world, my world. We exist and as you have signed a contract, you are bidden by that contract to me. I am a master vampire. I have walked this earth for nearly three centuries. Longer than any other master. I have no reason to sleep. The "people" if you prefer, that are trying to kill me, are sent by another master whom has woken and found me still walking and having come into powers of my own, is very disturbed. We walk, we talk, we exist. We feed. We fuck. We breath just like you Mr. Kyle. The only difference between us is the world around us.
You live in the bustle of the sunlight and all the things it entails. My world starts where yours ends. The night is my life. The blood of the night is my life. There are wrongs that have to be made right before I can sleep again Mr. Kyle. There are certain things I must know before I can relinquish this time. Again, I need you. If your offer of 2,000 a day isnt enough, I can and am willing to give you more. Anything you want. You do not understand this yet, I can tell that from the expression on your face. But know this, you are bound by contract. Regardless of what it says, you are bound to me" her voice on the verge of breaking again, she quickly took a breath and as a single tear fell down her cheek, watched and waited for his reply. If he did not agree to help her, she would have to kill him. No one could know what she told him just now and live. It was to much and could be used to do more harm than good.

James sighed and looked at her. "What's a master vampire need with stupid private eye like me anyway. don't you have powerful vampire boyguards or some shit." He didn't hav any reason to doubt what she tell him. After all the woman destroied simply by screaming. How could he explain that?

"Other vampires as you called them are easier to manipulate. Humans tend to have to be force manipulated. That means turning you so you will be our bitches kind of. I need you because your strong. I know this. I need you because you can also do some detective work also. I need you because, well, I need a companion of sorts as I stated earlier. I need to be held, spoken to, acknowledged by someone other than those I live with or interact with. I need life around me Mr. Kyle and if we do not get moving, there will be no life around for either of us" she said/.

James looked around. "Alright come on." He went to the edge of the rooftop and listened. No sound, nothing.

Then he heard it, the faint rustling of the men below stirring. Trying to regain their senses. They didn't have much time, he turned to her and motioned her to follow him.
At the bottom of the ladder he held his gun outward, pointing it to the shadows in the building. Then he turned and glanced across the street. There were still cars parked at the mini mall.
He led her across the road to a dark blue Tahoe. He used the butt of his gun to break the drivers side window and he climbed it, unlocking the door for Selene. Then went to work his magic on the ignition.
Mere seconds and the SUV was alive. "Alright let's get the fuck out of here." He pulled out of the parking lot and zipped away from his office.
