Deshiree:

Slowly we all emerged from the lake, the freezing water causing my Kimono to cling uncomfortably. I pulled it up to keep it from slipping down and helped the others onto the dry land. Iron Town was demolished, smoke curled up in huge billows from the forge's. I let out a soft sigh as I shook my head in despair. What would we do...

"At least we're alive..."

I heard Toki say brightly, always trying to cheer everyone up. Hell we'd all survived worse, that at least was true. I trudged up the hill and scanned the area, relieved to see m'lady Eboshi was still alive... though injured. The wolf girl was there as well but it didn't bother me... what more harm could she do. My eyes shifted to the strangers up on the hill... the monk. I sighed softly, his men had all but deserted him it seemed... or perhaps they were dead. I looked around to help a few of the ladies up.

Jiko

Jiko looked down from the rok he was on. the iron cauldron now empty, a hint of green ooze still there. "Ahh well, i suppose the kid was right. but what will i say to the emporer?" he looked back down to the smouldering remains of iron town. he say one of the town girls waving and smiled back. most of his followers had died because of that acursed night walker. and now their lives were all in vain. Jiko sighed. "might as well go back and help the villagers. mabe rebuild the village. i could swoon Eboshi out of qite a pretty penny with the last few dezen men i had helping." Jiko smiled. maybe he wouldn't come out empty handed after all

OOC: i though her name was Aboshi....

Lady Eboshi is correct according to the website I looked on... *shrugs* DVD won't work so can't check it there...

IC:

De-shi-ree stepped towards the town slowly, it would be hard work alright but there are worse things she could do. And she was built strong enough, she could handle any of the hard labor.

As she approached she soon fell into step next to the monk... Jiko wasn't it? Jiko yes...

"Hello sir."

She smiled cheerfully, despite the disastor.

"I suppose you'll be stickin' around right? To help?"

Can't very well go back to the emporer.. whoever that was, empty handed. She kinda hoped he would be staying they could use some more strong backs. And though he is not as handsome as perhaps some of the others, there was something to him. He definately had character... which went well with her own brand of spunk.

Jiko

Jiko smiled at her. "Yes, well i supose thats up to the lady Eboshi. whats your name by the way? i think i should get to know it." Jiko kept the calculating mind out of his tone and kept smiling. you might as well have friends if you're staying somewhere for a while.

"De-shi-ree."

I took his hand and shook it strongly. Wouldn't have anyone thinking I couldn't do some of the work around here, I was no dainty girl.

"And yours... Jiko right?

Jiko

Jiko shook the girls hand. "ahh, my name precedes me deshiree, what do you do here, in Iron Town, before now that is?" Jiko noticed a few of the lepers were still around. he seriously doubted many of them could have out run the Night Walker. but maybe it had missed some of Eboshi's gardens. he would have to find out later.

Lucky Lepers

He and his fellow lepers gazed across the water at the remains of Iron Town. For some of them, it had been the only place they could call home. For others, it was the last. They were huddled around, mourning their lost comrades. Some too sick to leave where they had worked, and others who had not been able to escape in time. Their eyes gazed across the others, and they talked in hushed tones about what to do now.

He ducked away from the others. It really didn't matter what they did now. They would move on. Iron Town was gone, but the Lady lived. But is was true they could burden the others if they went with them. It was a difficult road ahead, for everyone.

De-shi-ree

I chuckled lightly,

"Of course it does, Lady Eboshi warned us about you."

She smiled mischieviously,

"Said you played innocent but you were as slippery as a snake as I recall."

I looked down towards him playfully adding,

"Don't look all that dangerous to me though?"

At his question she shruged,

"Well I ran the bellows with the rest of the girls. Three days straight of pumping... up and down up and down... takes endurance. Learned how to take that in the brothels."

She snickered again at the thought. But as some of the lepers fell she quickly moved to bring them some water. They took it greatfully, oh how horrible it must be for them.

Jiko

Jiko laughed "warned you? i'm just a poor monk. i'm no snake, those are some hard hours you work. no matter how much practice you've had." she ran off to help a leper who had fallen, and he walked after her. no use in looking like he was anxious for Lady Eboshi.

Lepers

He moved closer to his comrades as they collapsed from fear, relief, disease, and their own tired feeling. One of the woman came to help, and they thanked her greatly as they accepted the help. They were not much used to help, and they were always grateful when people were willing to look beyond their disease.

He was taken aside by one of the others, it was difficult to tell a few of them apart until you heard their voices. "What do you think will happen next? And what should we do? So many of us were lost when Iron Town fell, only a handful of us remain."

He slowly nodded, looking away from the remains of Iron Town, ovber the damage the Night Walker had brought to the land. "We will continue on, I suppose. Looking back on what we have done, I feel shame for what we have brought upon ourselves. Look at the land, what we have caused it to be. It has been ravished by disease, and now it heals. A disease we brought to it. Iron, bullets, guns, the fight with the God of the Forest. Perhaps Iron Town's destruction is not such a bad thing. It could only have gotten worse. For us, who live with disease so closely, we should have known better."

Korouku

"Wow,"said Korouku as he stared at the green stalks sprouting from the hills around the lake. "I didn't know the Forest Spirit made the trees grow."
It shouldn't have suprised him, he thought. The great forest spirit was life itself. As he looked around at the wreckage of what used to be Iron Town, he felt a sense of loss deep within himself, but it was overcome by a stronger emotion; hope. "We'll build a new Iron Town..." he heard Lady Eboshi say. "Maybe this is for the best," Korouku thought. He went over to the hill where the Lady Eboshi was resting to see what he could do to help.

Ashitaka seemed to enter the scene out of nowhere; his gentle footfalls had become inaudible compared to the sobs and talking of those that had survived. He gently approached the group of lepers, bearing water.

"Is everyone here alright?" he asked in his calm, soft voice. He was unconcerned with his own troubles at the moment; his caring nature steered him towards everyone else's well-being to come first.

San

I watched the hill when my enemies of Iron town had lived. The forrest spirit had covered it with the beauty of green, the way it had been before Lady Eboshi had destroyed it.

I watched the people gathered in the water. Women, men and Lepers started to move from the water. I watched Ashitaka as he headed towards the once know town.

"Ashitaka!" I called to him from where I stood "Will you not come with me to heal the forrest?!"

He said nothing, but only turned. I gazed at him as I held the necklace in my hand close to my chest. Slowly I started to turn back to the forrest that was and is atill my home.

She turned back to Jiko after helping the leper and smiled nodding,

"I'm sure Lady Eboshi will let you stay, We could use all the help we can get."

She glanced around,

"This is really amazing, I find it hard to believe it ever looked like this here. I wasn't hear until after Iron town was allready built. It really is beautiful..."

OOC: I'll play Toki until someone claims her :)

IC:

Toki shook her head for once not coming up with some quip back to Korouku.

"Neither did I..."

She continued up the hill when she saw Ashitaka,

"Hey there stranger, glad to know you're allright!"

She sighed a little looking towards the destroyed Iron town,

"Most everyone's allright..."

A pause...

"We couldn't get all the lepers out."

Her face sunk she felt partly responsible... if only they'd had more girls to help...

Jiko

OOC:lol no prob

IC: Jiko nodded. "yes, it is quite beautiful here, the view is astounding" He helped the lepers up and turned back to the couple of people before him "well, i'm sure Lady Eboshi will need time to recover, be i say we look around, and try to help some people, broken people are of no use, and of course it's just the right think to do"
Jiko thought to himself 'right because then they can do something.' but smiled to the others, he didn't see himself as an evil man, just practical and logical. if you could get something great, what mattered what you were to do?

Ashitaka thought over San's words for a few moments before looking back to her. Her back was turned, slowly she walked towards the forest, clenching her necklace close to her chest. Silently, Ashitaka's agile body turned in the direction in which he looked.

For a few moments Ashitaka stood thinking of the paths he may follow, but it seemed as if he truly only had one choice. He had to go with San; he felt some sort of special bond with her, he had since his eyes first fell upon her untamed beauty. He made a few long strides before he broke into a jog.

Ashitaka slowed his pace upon reaching San's side. "I will accompany you on your quest to heal the forest," he replied softly. He looked at her, his eyes holding hers, a soft smile crossing his lips.
