Khati Sha is what they called me. Didn't look like my people, they were more serpent like, worshiping the serpent gods. Father, the king, was all I really knew, he claimed mother had died of natural causes. Little did he know there were rumors saying he sacrificed her because of the way I looked, he refused to believe I was his daughter. Though he took care of me like I was, making me very close and very special to him. And none the less, still the princess of these lands and his people. For now, as long as I was his eldest, I would become queen.

Reasons I look so different was the simple fact that I had cat like feature. Eyes were so pure and so innocent silver like the stars on midnight sky. Hair was more like a thick mane stretching down to the base of my firm ass. Ears showed a mix of elven blood which was the only feature I recieved of my mother. Even my skin had slight hint of panther spots, no fur though. Skin was smooth as silk for every inch of my body was hairless except for my silver mane.
Everyone else was more serpent like features. My looks alone made me special and very high in command. I had no powers that I knew of. Father always kept it that way, as if he knew something more of what I was than he would tell me.
~~~~~~~~~~
Today was the day! My 19th birthday, the year I was to be wed. Father had set up a grand ball for every prince in all the lands. I knew nothing about love or anything that followed it. Had always been a sheltered life and now he wants to wed me to some random suitor. Sat next to my father as the party started and people were getting settled into the mood.
Bored out of my mind, none of these males interested me. They were either to big and muscular, having to bend down to kiss my cheek. I wasn't very tall at all. This little petite thing, standing about 5'3 barely weighing 100 lbs. Still looked awesome though, perfectly toned body. Breast were a little big for my size, but still had the right look to fit my slender frame.
Others were to whining, talked to much about nothing. Or didn't talk at all. No way I was interested in any of them.
Found a moment to sneak off into the garden maze, getting lost in it like I love to do. Sadly, I've been in here enough times I couldn't get lost anymore. Enjoying the wind and the sounds it made through the trees, almost making it sound and feel like someone was there. Knowing that no-one knew I was here, that never worried me. Some reason the fear it's self aroused me in some way so I had always managed to keep the feeling of someone there, watching me, perhaps take me away from this place. The maze at night always gave off that creepy feeling all I could do was relish in the feel of it. This was my escape from my own birthday party.
Esmerelda Taki was Queen of the Shadow Clan, a prospering dark elf kingdom that rivaled Aragoinian Kingdom in which Khati was the princess of. They were in the middle of an uneasy peace which had so far lasted for thirty years despite the bitter rivalry between the two countries.
Queen Taki was a beautiful elf, standing just under 5'4". Her eyes were a deep red and always seem to have a look of cunning and deception about them. Her skin was a dark grey tone and smooth as silk. A orange diamond-shaped jewel was set between her eyebrows, the bottom tip on the bridge of her nose while the top extended to just an inch up her forehead. Her hair was full bodied and of a deep red, falling just below her shoulders.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Esmerelda had choosen a black gown to wear to the grand ball thrown for Khati, a white cloak snapped at the neck. On the tips of her ears hung a pair of ruby earrings and a matching ruby necklace. The ruby was nestled between her full, but small breasts, the front of her gown curved a little to shown a little bit of cleavage. She had gotten a few lusty stares from the young princes, but she merely brushed them aside. She tried listening to or talking with the princes, but she foundt them either boring or stupid.
"M'lady. The princess has left the party."
A voice whispered softly into Esmerelda's ear, one of the escorts she had brought with her. She had brought three escorts with her, two thieves and a fighter. She had given the two thieves instructions to watch the princesses's movements while she had the fighter stay nearby. The two thieves had been dressed like servants to keep from standing out while the fighter was dressed like a palace guard.
She nodded her thanks to her messenger and made her way out as well, making sure she wasn't noticed. She paused for a moment at the enternce to the garden maze, the hem of her gown and cloak rustling softly in the breeze. Her eyes soon adjusted to the darkness in a few short moments before she plunged into the maze in search of her prey.
Khati ~
After long moments of being in the maze, letting the fear of being watched fade with sudden feelings of safety within the walls of the maze. Picking roses here and there, plucking at the petals as I walked leaving an obvious trail about half way through the maze. Had the urge to go back to the party mainly to make my father happy. Then again I didn't want to go back to those mindless *boys* they called princes. Couldn't believe some of them would be taking over lands.
Entering to the center of the maze where there was weeping willow tree, grotto was build within the weeping branches. This has always been my favorite place. Even my father didn't know how often I came here, in fact I think with all that has been happening with the rivalries, he had forgotten about this place. Which was fine for me. Went into the grotto and layed on the ground in deep thought while listening to the rustling leaves. Never felt safer anywhere else than I do right now. The black cloak covered the lavender dress I had worn, blending me into the darkness of the ground.
Emerelda~
She stood at the enterence for a few moments longer, letting the wind blow around her. She began wandering slowly through the maze, listening for any signs of the princess. PErhaps with the princess as her captive, the shadow Clan could finally get rid of the rivalry once and for all.
Finding the trails of petals, the queen smiled to herself. She took her time following the trail, pausing every now and then to pick a few petals up. She let them slip from her fingers back onto the ground as she walked. She paused for a moment at the end of the rose trail, admiring the beautiful willow tree.
"I see I wasn't the only one who was bored by the empty talk of those boys."
She spoke aloud as if to no one, but she figured someone was here since this was where the petal trail ended.
It didn't even phase me that there was an actual person speaking, there were times when I heard the spirit world, mostly in dreams though. I was not dreaming.... was I? Stayed silent a few moments, getting focus back of where I was. Scent of another followed the air strongly.
"Who's there and how did you find me?"
Paused a moment, when I realized I led whoever was in the maze to me with the petals;
"Nevermind that, did my father send you to look for me? I wish to be alone."
Never moved from the spot, though I did sit up. The silver in my hair sparkled in the moonlight that beamed through the tree. Once I saw her figure through the branches, knew I didn't reconize her as one of fathers summomers. *He had many for I would run off all the time.* And her voice seem familiar somehow. The angle she was in I couldn't see her face.
Felt the pounding rise deep in my chest, unsure of her being here. Let alone her reasons for being so far from the party. I've spent little time around the royals when they were in their meeting. Knew most of the royals in the lands, but not all. Things like that always bore me, so I ended up doing what I did. Sneak off.
"You seem to be pretty far from the party, not everyone comes here. What reasons would have to wonder in here?"
For as hard as the relentless beating within the chest was going, my voice was very soothing and calm, like I wasn't scared. I didn't know why I was. Suppose it was because I hadn't expected anyone to come out here, also how long as she been watching me?
She gave a light laugh at the mention of the princess's father.
"And why would I be sent by that coward?"
She moved forward towards the tree, the leaves crunching softly beneath her soft footsteps. She stopped at the base of the tree and looked up. The moonlight caught for a moment in her red eyes before a cloud passed in front of it.
"I am Queen Esmerelda, of the Shadow Clan. As far as my reasons for being out here, it had gotten quite boring in there. It makes me laugh that any of those boys are going to be ruling soon."
The cloud passed by and the moonlight shone off of her eyes and the ruby jewels she wore.
Thought I had reconized her, met her only once a long time ago. She has been here a few times after, but as always I was never around. Slight laugh escaped when she called my father a coward.
"I don't know if I would call my father a coward. He is childish in his ways, but...."
Shrugged it off, didn't even bother getting up to bow to her. She didn't seem to formal right now so why should I? The sparkle of her eyes brought fear, at the same time a slight arousal.
*Why does fear always arouse me?* Almost frustrated by that.
"And to think I'm supose to wed one of those boys. What a lucky girl I am!"
"What would bring a queen to a petty birthday party? Or are you trying to rid your son like all these other royals?"
"I would say your father is too soft."
She grinned softly for a moment, the smile seeming to be a mix of warmth and crookedness. She lifted her eyes towards the moon for a moment.
"No, I did not come here to rid myself of a son I don't have. I have different reasons than these other simpletons do."
She whirled around and took a slow pace around the tree, her hair flowing gently in the wind as she walked.
"Tell me, is there another way out of here besides the garden enternce, such as a hidden exit?"
Began to watch her movements a bit more carefully. There was somthing not right with this.
"Aye, that he is. Soft minded and hearted"
The way she looked and moved, was like she was thinking or planing something out.
"I should perhaps head back. After all it is a party for me. As for ways out there are many. One in each direction, North, South, West, and East. All hidden entrances."
Slowly stood with greastest of ease, first onto my knees then rest of way up, hands never touching the ground. Not really wanting to leave for she did have a unique beauty about her. And so far she really hasn't posed any real threat. None the less I took a few steps indicating that I was about to leave.
She nodded gently as the princess indicted the directions of the hidden enternces. She turned to Khati and gave a curtesy.
"You are quite right. It is your party and it would be a shame if you were missed."
The way she said her words seem to have a hint of a deeper meaning behind them. She turned away to glance at two of the corners of the hedges where two shapes seemed to have appeared. She smiled to herself and lifted her right hand, her index finger circling in the air.
A moment later a soft 'shuk' was heard as two sleep-tipped darts headed towards the princess, hitting on the back of her neck. It would take only a few seconds for the drug to take effect.
"Do not worry princess, we shall meet again very soon."
She smiled to the princess as she walked passed her to leave the maze. The shapely figure of the queen would be the last thing the princess would see for a time.
Gave a slight curtesy in return still eyeing her cautiously, specially with the way she had sounded when she spoke of being missed.
"Aye; things would fall if it wasn't........"
Dropped to knees from the pain of the darts as the hit, instantly reaching my hand up to see what it was. Only to drop the rest of the way when the sleep came over almost instantly. All I could was watch her walk off while my body weakened.
"Wha..... whats happen...."
Silence fell from my lips, closing my eyes when the dark cloak of sleep took over.
The two thieves who had put Khati asleep dropped off of the top of the hedge and looked around carefully. One of them scooped her up in her arms and carried her out of the garden via one of the secret exits. They placed her in the royal carriage that Esmerlerda rode in on, carefully hiding her under a blanket and stayed guard over her.
At the party the queen told everyone that the princess had falling ill in the garden and had been taken to her room. She told them in no uncertain terms that it would be best if the princess was not bothered for a day or so and she would get better. She stayed for a little longer at the party, but it continued on even though the princess wasn't there.
She soon left in the carriage, sitting across from the princess as she slept. The sleepness wore off after a little while, letting the princess wake up. The queen smiled gently to her, offering her a drink of water for the parched throat she probably had. The water had the sleeping potion in it as well, so the princess would dozed off again after a few minutes.
The process continued throughout the five days of continuos carriage travel, the packed supplies giving them enough to keep going without stopping.
Once they arrived at the castle, the sleeping princess was carried up to one of the guest rooms high in one of the many towers. The room was lavishly decorated as if it was the very princess who was supposed to stay there. There was a balcony from which the wonderful view of the entire countryside could be seen, rolling plains, the surrounding moutains, as well as a roaring waterfall a mile away from the castle. The door was locked to keep the princess in the room, at least for the time being.
Dreams were strange, stranger than they normally are. The spirits that would come to me were acting strange, as if trying to warn me. Each time I woke up felt ever groggier, soon to be sleeping once again. Got to a point to where I don't know if I was awake or sleeping, only indication of either was the way my body would ache one moment, then nothing the next.
Kept seeing the queen, the one that was in the garden with me. She would never leave my sight, even in dream she was there. Every so often she would give me some water to drink which felt wonderful, shortly after I would be knocked out again.
Talked in my sleep, asking where I was, about my father. Things that mattered, yet didn't. Body felt so strange when someone carried me, numb, aching from five days of sleeping. When I woke up, no -one was there, the room was beautiful.
Dark purple with hint of pink in the drapes, black silk comforters and bed sheets. Purple wood dresser with a full mirror on it, trimmed with the same wood. Among many other beautiful things. Sore muscles screamed at me when I finally stood, looking around the unfamiliar room.
Still to groggy to really become scared, the door was locked, the caged heart slowly began to pound harder the more I became aware. Went to the drapes pulling them open to find a balcony that had the most wonderous veiw of the kingdomw and valley. Unfortunatly there was no way down, the drop would be massive, leading to death.
When I realized that I was truly trapped here, after the searching the room for any possble way out. Sat on the bed, tears were building up but not streaming, sat in silence waiting for whoever took me to come... If they would..
The lock to the door clicked open and swung open slowly. A young dark elven maid stepped in bearing a tray full of food and a pitcher of wine. The maid made her way in carefully and placed the tray on the nightstand beside the bed.
"Mistress wanted to make sure the guest was fed and ready for this evening's dinner. Do you wish anything else m'lady?"
The maid smiled and looked at the princess for a moment before bowing her head as she was suppose to.
Was expressionless as the maid spoke, not looking up to her or the food.
"What I wish wouldn't matter it appears, so I supose a bath and clean attire would be nice."
What I really wanted was to go back home, was hungry, but wouldn't eat or drink. After all every time I drank something it would put me to sleep. Tired of sleeping, not trusting what was in the food or drink.
"If I am a guest, why would the door be locked?"
Spoke softly, yet still without emotion.
"Mistress did so in order to keep her guest from becoming lost in the castle. If you wish, I shall take you to the bath."
The maid turned and made her way to the door, opening it up. She glanced back over her shoulder.
"Fresh attire will be ready after your bath m'lady."
Stood hesitantly, willing to follow her to the bath, still unsure of what was happening or why. Keeping a slight distance;
"Yes, please, I wish for a bath. Not used to feeling this unclean."
Understood her remark for having the door locked, didn't believe her, but accepted the answer none the less.
Tempted to ask her why I was here, though feared she wouldn't know the answer. Instead, went with her in silence.
The castle was indeed large as the maid led Khati through the halls. They passed several other servents, and even a few royalty. The place seemed very busy, but everyone gave the princess a warm greeting.
They soon went down some steps into a large underground natural hotspring. It was a pblic bath, at least for females as there were several other females there already bathing. The maid smiled to the princess as she waited by the steps into the spring.
"Would you care for a little help with your garments m'lady?"
Held onto my cloak tightly not wishing anyone to see how filthy I was. Greeted those in return with silence, admiring the castle, paintings, carvings. It seemed to be much larger than my fathers, more of my taste as well. Strangly almost felt at home here, though I wouldn't show it.
Stepped into the bathing area, definitly something I not used to. An open bath?
"ummm no... but.. I.. I'm not sure about this.. never bathed in front of others."
Tightly grasped the cloak around me more, not sure of what to make of this. Slowly taking a few steps back up the steps I stood on. Unsure of what to make of this.
The maid blinked and tilted her head quizzically as she looked at the princess.
"You have never bathed with others? Where do you hail from m'lady? It is natural among the dark elves to bathe like this. We are pround of ourselves. Even Queen Taki bathes here. I can get someone else to help make you comfortable if you desire m'lady."
"It.. its just my father wouldn't allow such things... n-n-not when it concerned with me..... I'm not sure who here would make me comfortable....."
Kept backing away slowly, looking from the maid and back to the others that were bathing. All were looking at me in disbelief. Felt really uncomfortable being here.
"Maybe I should just go back to my room.... I - I don't know.."
"I don't see why m'lady's father would be concerned..there are no males present here. They bathe elsewhere. We dark elves see no shame in this. Will m'lady give it a try just once? I do not believe there is any other place for m'lady to go and bathe except the falls and that is half a day's travel away."
The maid's look was almost pleadingly, as she looked at the other bathers. She was quite embarrassed at not being able to make things go smoothly.
"It has nothing to do with males or not... he just felt because I was different, none should see me in such ways..."
Saw that she was pleading with her eyes, the hint of embarrassment that ran through them.
"Please, it has nothing to do with your customs... This is just new to me.. I.. I.."
The maid could sense that she was winning this little battle. Slowly, but it was there. Specially when I stopped moving backwards, and took a step closer back in. Lowering my head and gaze from everyone.
"I don't know why father was ashamed of how I looked... but if this is the only choice I have, so be it..... just.. don't leave me alone please..."
Right now the maid was the only I half trusted, she heard and saw how scared I was.
The maid nodded softly as Khati began giving in.
"Of course I won't leave you alone. Mistress wanted me to oversee and make sure everything was done correctly for you."
She stepped to one side so that the princess could go past her and waited.
"Shall I take your garments?"
Smiled shyly towards her, she was being really nice. Course she had to. Looked around at possibly finding a corner that was somewhat distant, but to avail there was none, it was purely open.
There was still hesitation when I released the grip I had on the cloak, taking it off while handing it to the maiden. Very reluctantly and slowly took off the gown I wore, letting it fall to the ground. It revealed the slight leopard patteren that lightly covered most of my slender body. Kept head lowered, bringing up my arms hugging them across my breast.
Was silent as the maiden took my clothes and guided me into the water. Never looking up to the staring eyes.
