Prince RIP

I've just been hearing he's had the flu since April 5 so it may have been complications of the flu...that's all I've heard.

On a side note, now he really fits his name as the artist formerly known as Prince. :D

Too early...?? :nana:

Way to go, you killed the thread. Only Greg Giraldo (RIP:heart:)could say something like that.

L:rose:

He was a flake, but a talented flake.

Songs I liked by "The performer formerly known as Prince" aka https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Prince_logo.svg
Little red corvette
1999
Purple rain

Groups I like that he started/had a hand in:
Sheila e.
Apollonia
Vanity

I'm not a fan of his life choices, still, he died too young.

Lemmy Kilmister, Glenn Frey, Alan Rickman, David Bowie, Keith Emerson, Jimmy Bain, Merle Haggard, Paul Kantner, Natalie Cole, Doris Roberts, Victoria Wood, and now Prince. 2016 has been a bad year.

I really need to quit relying on Literotica for news.
Seeing the title, I'm thinking "What prince?"

Well since I was a teen growing up in the 80s....Prince was a fixture in my car's tape deck. I had the Purple Rain soundtrack tape...and my friends and I would always play "Let's Go Crazy" when we were just about to cross the bridge over the bay to get to the Jersey shore......such great memories.....he was a talented singer, musician, and songwriter and will truly be missed. :(

he was a unique and talented performer, and there really hasn't been anyone to copy his style. He brought a sexiness and sensuality to his music that you hadn't heard in mainstream pop music. RIP Prince Rogers Nelson. :rose:

He was never really recognized for his abilities as a guitarist.
Shame- he was right up there with Clapton, Harrison, Lennon, etc.

I hope it wasn't drugs!!!

That probably sums it up better then a lot of other things I've see written about the man.

As far as music I still listen to and love Prince was the first. I remember my mom getting those Columbia House cassettes and we got Huey Lewis, the Ghostbusters soundtrack and Prince's Purple Rain. I was probably about 8. I didn't quite understand what Prince was exactly at the time but I really liked the songs. He was just so amazing with the pop hooks. He was a musician's musician for sure.
