So the Prince finally gets the girl of his dreams, brings a whole new world of possibilities to chat up lines - "I wish I was your tampon" - likely to pull the lasses in droves by guys from Berwick on Tweed to Brighton.

The country will be 'ruled' by a King whose favourite past time is... no I'm not even going to try. Can we pull the string when we've had enough of him?

So there we have it, a dignified aging man, well past his prime, ruling a tiny country of diminishing significance, and the Pope - I'm not Catholic, but I know who'd get my vote.
