Two weeks ago, on a whim, I bought a rainbow bracelet from a friend who makes them out of aluminium rings. I've worn it every day since then on my right hand.

I never want to take it off.

I am a little unsure what to tell people who ask about it. I am 'bisexual', but honestly I hate that label. I don't know why I do, and I have no problem when people use it... but I just don't like to use it for myself.

Who else wears something like that, and what does it mean to you? What do you tell people who ask about it?

Also, i've attached an image of the bracelet. My friend just makes them as a hobby, and says she could sell them for like $15... I keep trying to tell her they are worth at least $40. They are hand made high quality aluminium. She buys the rings and puts them together with little pliers, and she does a fantastic job. What does everyone else think of the bracelet? Can anyone put a value to it? I don't want her to undersell herself.

Just tell them it was a gift from a friend .

It's easier than pansexual, since most people don't know what pan means. Now, I just explain it like a friend of mine put it. I like men, women, women that used to be men, and men that used to be women. That sometimes leads people to assume that's why I'm slutty, though.

Oh, and yeah, that is a really cool bracelet.

It is nice. I don't know about $40 - the $15-20 range seems about right. Figure $10/hr for the time spent making it, plus materials cost, plus at least 25%, and if that comes to less than $15 then charge $15. If it comes to more than $15 but less than $20, charge $20. That's not a lot of money these days, really.

Thanks for the responses.

Hi, bicuriouscd!
Part of the reason I am wearing it is because I want to tell people. It's part of who I am, and I want people in my life to know who I am.

infinity706, I like the term pansexual!
Maybe I'll just say my sexual preference is humans.

This is what I wear

What does it mean: well I think that is pretty obvious. I like that when someone is close enough to see it, and if I get a smile, I know I have a friend...if I get a frown, well then...

Topher: I caught a guy in my class last week smiling at my bracelet. It was a nice feeling. I am afraid that I will get hassled about it some day.

Carol: That is beautiful :)
