I know, but it is a cold hard fact of life that paedophiles also frequent those places. In fact, they specifically target those places.

I wouldn't trust anyone I met on the net as far as I could throw them (and then some), if my children were around or even mentioned, and especially if it was known to them that they were around.

The only people I have ever gone onto webcam with are those who I have either actually met in person, or someone I have got to know over quite a period of time. Even then, I'd still act with a certain amount of caution.

Hmmm, I looked at the title and figured this was going to be about the presidential debates.

I can offer a somewhat related annecdote: I had an experience where I was having a rather heated chat session with a particular woman. Afterwards, she logged off and I stayed on. A few hours later I saw her pop back online, so I greeted her, and the conversation quickly went in the same direction that it had gone before. The next day, I found out from her that she had not logged on that second time, that it had been her inappropriately young (not on the same scale as your daughters, but younger than I feel comfortable with) daughter. And this woman was really mad at me for carrying on with her daughter, feeling that I should have realized this. In rereading the conversation, I found that the daughter was probably somewhat more articulate than the mother--maybe I should have noticed that, but honestly the thought never occured to me. There's no way I would have risked exposing an adolescent to anything like that, had I suspected it in the least.

Anyway, my point is that it's so easy for children to get exposed to sex on the Internet, either through accident or through their own design. Obviously the guy in your story is an asshole, but it's really hard to protect your children completely from this. It's a universal problem.

Perhaps there is a bigger issue here. We all feel too secure on the web.

Ninety-nine percent of the people you meet are pretty much who and what they say they are but that other one pct can be very dangerous. Most of us are too trusting, tell too much about ourselves before we get to know those we meet on line.

There are private detectives specializing in finding people on the web. They use very imaginative tricks and traps to gain information on their targets and also use hackers who can do god knows what these days.

A while back I was in a chat room under a new name. A friend appproached me, not knowing who I was and without any prodding from me, told me her first name, had a picture of she and her daughter posted then told me the name of the small town she lived in. She thought nothing of it until I pointed out that I could have taken that picture to any drug store in her town and gotten directions to her door. I could have been a crazy looking for a child to kidnap or molest. Yes the odds against it are huge, but she never even considered that there was any risk at all.

Have they never seen a penis before?

Do you believe that they do not yet know what a penis is, what it is for, and how that works?
