Preventing anon comments

Hello.

I am being targeted by a few anon 'readers/authors' leaving content-targeted and nasty, vengeful comments. I think I have an idea of who they are but have no proof.

When I post my next chapter, how can I prevent anon comments but allow members to leave comments? I've found the 'Public Comments' include anon & members, but I remember reading selecting 'No' will prevent anon comments.

Can someone please help me?

On the submissions control panel page, click options under the Main section.

You will see the selection to not accept anon comments there.

Just remember the downside is you lose out on all the good anonymous feedback and there is a lot more of that than these is the bad ones.

Oh, I'm very aware of not receiving the good anon feedback. But because of these 'readers/authors,' I don't need nor want anymore negativity from them or from other trolls on this site. I have pondered whether to not finish because of them, but there are readers who are genuine and kind and actually do enjoy my story. So for their sake I am continuing.

Even if they have to create an Alt, they will, just to leave the worst possible comment they can.

Then again you can always just delete the comments. Just don't ever respond to them, unless you want to have a battle of wits with the witless.

Oh, you are so right, as well! There is so much negativity on this site it is beyond unbelievable! But my case is unique, but I will not go into details. All I know is I am definitely being targeted, and NO, I am not paranoid! lol

I am learning, albeit slowly, to grow a thicker skin because of this site. Yes, I could delete the negative comments even if they are members. Someone told me not to. Why? Because it only makes them look bad!

So I've decided to continue, as I said, because of readers who actually like it, despite ... biting tongue. lol

You might want to PM Laurel the site owner and give her a link to the story or stories being targeted and a short idea of what is going on. She can be a big help at times.
