But you couldn't ever return to where
you are now. (Of course, your mind would be wiped clean of the future if you traveled back in time). Where would you go and what year would it be?

There are plenty of historical eras I'd llove to spend time in (the middle ages, 1776, Elizabethean England) -- but only if I could come back. Eventually I think you'd go mad if you were "Stuck".

So, if I couldn't come back EVER then I'd pick a familiar time. I'd go back to 9th grade knowing all that I know now and rule the school and make a forutne betting on sporting events I know the outcome and seduce all the cute teachers and walk into the world ahead of the game.

DCL, you didn't read the fine print....

If you go back in time, you go back with no knowledge of happened before then. Now what??

Sounds Fun

Ancient Egypt so I could evaluate those pyramids being built. If not that then Greece or Rome to supervise over the aquaducts and the arenas. All sounds like alot of fun to me.:)

Ireland when the Celts were in their height or Classical Rome. I also think I would love to go back into ancient China or India. Hell I'm a Cultural Anthropology student, I love them all.

:D

Stay put

Life was not better in any previous eras or ages. The world has always been beset with problems and always will be.

It I would probably want to go to Tahiti about 100 years before the "civilized" world discovered it.

I would go to the home of my Lover, in this day and time, with some of my belongings to start over a new life with Him in His home town.

~sigh~

Sometimes LD relationships are a bitch. I sure do miss Him.

time travel...

If I had to go somewhere...
I'd go forward...I'd go forward to the exact point in time that would put me in position to witness the end of the world as we know it...only I would want to arrive at the end of the world as an old man. So...beam me down about 40 years prior to the climax.

If the Dark Ages had really been the way they're written about now that's where I'd want to go, but since they weren't... Like Mellon said, ancient Ireland in the highpoint of the Celtic civilization

One of two choices.

1 - The United States during the Civil War. That's my favorite period of history and it was perhaps the most formative period in this nation. To be there, while history was being created every day would be spectacular. To be involved in an infantry charge against a massed and ready opponent, not knowing whether you would be the next man cut down took courage rarely seen in our world these days. And it happened every day with hundreds of thousands of men and women.

2 - Europe in the 1930's, hanging with Einstein, Bohr, Born, Shroedinger, Dirac, Fermi, and the other great scientists of the age. They were hammering out a whole new universe in science - something not done since Newton. The correspondences among them was amazing enough, but to be there among them while it was happening, to see the experiements conducted, to be party to those conversations....wow.

isn't everyday the end of the world as we know it? at least, the end of the world as someone knows it...

I am pretty content where i am but if i was forced to choose maybe the 1920's in the United States. I would love to know what flappers were really like. New York, the cotton club, and lots of speak easys. Maybe be a mobsters girl. I would go back after i found out if when and how he died. Ask for a huge loan the day before, never pay it naturally, and flap my way to happienss.

Well, then, it's a dumb game and I don't wanna play. LOL

Too many fucking rules in your little fantasy worlds, Blue. It's like the "no wishing for more wishes" rule. I hate that.

Alright, if I had no "future" knowledge then I'd wouldn't want to go anywhere. I cant' think of one era that I'd want to spend the rest of eternity in -- if I had to live in ignorance of astronomy, evolution, geography, medicine and Tetris. I understand I wouldn't know I was in ignorance of those things, but I'll know it while making the decision. Like I want to go back to small pox, slavery and earth on a turtle's back. No thanks.

Can I be the guy that works the machine instead?

1948, New York City

So I could watch the Yankees win all those championships.
