President Obama has nominated Appeals Court judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court, to fill the vacancy left by the timely demise of "Justice" Antonin Scalia.

Senator Orrin Hatch lectured the Federalist Society last week , daring President Obama to nominate a fine man like Merrick Garland, but stating Obama would likely nominate a black or woman ("Nigger or cunt" in Republican-speak)>

Mitch McConnell obviously believes that Supreme Court justices should be elected by popular vote.
 
Garland is Jewish so the RWCJ can reject him for his lack of Catholicism.

A Fox News legal analyst described Supreme Court nominee as a conservative — even as he urged Republicans to block his confirmation and accused President Barack Obama of politicizing the process.

Andrew Napolitano, the conservative network’s senior legal analyst, described appeals court judge Merrick Garland as “the consummate Washington, D.C., insider who has worked for both Republicans and Democrats.”

“Judge Garland is the most conservative nominee by a Democratic president in the modern era,” Napolitano said.

He said Garland’s 19-year track record as a federal prosecutor during President George H.W. Bush’s administration and then as an appellate court judge could offer plenty of ammunition for GOP senators to keep him off the Supreme Court.

Napolitano, a former New Jersey Superior Court Judge, may have a self interest in seeing the process stalled until after the possible election of Donald Trump as president.

Roger Stone, a conservative political consultant and casino lobbyist recently banned from CNN over his sexist and racist tweets, said earlier this month that Napolitano was “probably Trump’s number one pick for the U.S. Supreme Court.”

Evil, evil man. Choosing to nominate a moderate rather than a liberal. One who was brought up through the Republican nomination process and eulogized ten years ago by Orrin Hatch. He is such an evil man. Being reasonable obviously means he's up to something. He's always up to something--training terrorists or forging his birth certificate, or something. :rolleyes:

I spent lotsa years observing lawyers and judges, and many were Jews. I never saw one who made me think WOW! All were kinda average, like the rest. A Jew comes with a liberal bent that favors assfreaks and frowns on the 2nd amendment.

Obama cautions that Republicans’ blocking SCOTUS nomination may have future repercussions

President Obama predicted Saturday that the next Republican president will face political payback from Democrats if Senate Republicans refuse to allow a vote on his Supreme Court nominee, Judge Merrick Garland.

Denying Judge Garland a vote "would indicate a process for nominating and confirming judges that is beyond repair," Mr. Obama told Americans in his weekly address.

"It would make it increasingly impossible for any president, Republican or Democrat, to carry out their Constitutional function," the president said. "To go down that path would jeopardize our system of justice, it would hurt our democracy, and betray the vision of our founding."

But Sen. Thom Tillis, North Carolina Republican, said the Senate GOP will wait for the next president to select a nominee "so the American people can weigh in on this important decision."

"This is about principle, not the person the president has nominated," Mr. Tillis said in the Republicans' weekly address.

1) The GOP are probably aware that no GOP president will be elected in the next generation. Demographics are totally against them. Thus they have no fear of payback for stonewalling.

2) The American people already weighed in by electing Obama twice. The GOP have never accepted Obama as a legitimate president, as an American, as a human being, so their fucktard obstructionism is justified. Duh.

3) I thought Obama wanted the UN but I suppose he'd take SCOTUS. BTW there's a precedent. Wm H Taft was much better as Justice than President.
