For the past four weeks, the President has been giving a different speech each week addressing Democratic criticism of everything from Katrina, to Iqaq, to Carl Rove, Vice President Cheney, Tom Delay and a host of other ills.

His last speech was the subject of news talk shows today and one in particular, Brit Hume, the Managing editor of Fox News, who aired an interview he conducted with the President.

At the very end was a somewhat jocular portion on the interview concerning the Presidents IPOD and the music he listened to.

It included Dwight Yocum, Allan Jackson, Allison Krause and several other shit-kicking country music stars. I can forgive him for Allison Krause as she is truly a talented artist.

But, I once upon a time took the only radio job available in a small town, Country and Western Disk Jockey. I called Garth Brooks, 'Barf Brooks for almost two years before anyone caught on. I guess you could say I am not a fan of country music.

To find that the President of the United States listens to country music, is good for politics, I am sure, but, yuck. Another LBJ wanna be; well they are both from Texas, I guess.

So for those of you who delight in poking fun at the 'unintellectual' sounding President, add the country music addiction to your list.

On the other hand, politically speaking, after many months of silence in the face of Democrat demagoguery, the President faced and answered most of the criticism in fine fashion.

Today should become another milestone on the road to an Iraqi Democracy as the people vote today.

All is well in Washington D.C., thank you and the Democrats are on the run again with their 'cut and run' policy for the middle east.

The next big event should occur about January 9th, 2006, when the Senate begins the process of hearings for the next Supreme Court Justice.

Happy Holidays.

If the President likes country music fine. If he does not, also fine. A person's likes/dislikes in the music area are a personal thing and not really a good topic for criticism.

JMHO.

I wonder who was feeding him the answers through his earpiece this time. ;)

My husband and I were joking that that's going to become an ipod commercial at some point

Personally I like country music, as well as nearly every other type of music. I did like the fact that Brit got answers on the 2 big buzz topics in washington, is DR being replaced and is DC out of favor.

I have no idea what people will be able to talk about now on the metro, thank god for the ipod bit or the trains would run silent in the AM :)

yes, the speeches are more lucid and less sleazy.

the speech writers and neocon advisors have worked a lot to get just the right approach to the 'high moral ground'. in part it's through re working the reasons for being in Iraq. and being more honest about progress there.

perhaps the prez will get up his nerve and meet the press, and speak to gatherings of 'ordinary citizens', not just the military.

jeez, it's gotten me all wistful for the titanic intellect of Ronald Reagan.
