OK, I saw there was an article in the FAQ's but it was from 2004. I was wondering if there were any other ideas have come up since then. I am a sufferer of premature ejaculation and am debating on whether to go in and see a doctor/psychologist about it. Really, I think it makes me feel worse than my wife sometimes. But, after 30 seconds of less of insertion I seem to go. I've tried masturbation but it did not seem to work. Any other ideas? Medication seems too harsh, it seems there should be a better way. Please post your ideas! We are open about this problem, but we are trying to find the best thing to do from here, which is utter confusion.

Thanks,

Work with it by planning to cum once at the beginning of the encounter, switching to oral/manual/dildo while you recover, thenfinishing together?

Google "premature ejaculation" and read. This article, for example, has a lot of great suggestions and ideas. It takes practice, though. There's no quick fix.

Good Post!

The only thing i did'nt see out right explained is a urologist prescribing a low dosage of anti-depressant,most times Paxil......it decreases sex drive & the excitement level and helps control premature ejaculation.

how long have you to been having sex, did this just set on or was it your first time, anything like that?

Without knowing any more details, I have had a few random incidents like this, but....

I am very visual, and discovered that if I lay on top of my lover I cant see all the yummy sights, and usually last longer, and also she cums faster because of the body contact.

Also focus on her. Forget about your cock and how amazingly fucking good it feels. Just focus on her face, kiss her, stroke her face touch her hair and neck while you are making love to her. Doing these things might help you forget about whats going on down below, but continue the thrusting of course.

Kiss her too...find other little things to focus intently on. That helped me a little, but I will admit It probably wont solve your problem. But it has its benefits.

Also, if you cant fix it, get meds dude. I mean...I think sex is pretty damn important in the long run. But I'm not married...yet.

IMHO, I don't think you should be debating about whether to go or not. It upsets you, they have plenty of experience with dealing with the problem and will more then likely have the soloution.

Some women take their S.O's inability to 'hold back' as a compliment and as such may not see it as so much of a problem.

Do you know what your refractory period is? If it's an hour (for example) Have you tried masturbating to climax an hour before you have sex with your S.O?
I echo Im2000 and wish you well on whatever path you choose.

Thank you all

Thank you everyone for the advice. I will take it to heart.

Thanks,
