I think it was Dick Morris, former Clinton advisor, during an interview on Fox News that explained how it might happen.

Bill O’Reilly, a Harvard Graduate who has not yet learned how to tie his shoes, couldn’t follow Morris’ logic until the skeleton was revealed.

With the Massachusetts election results confirmed, and a 60 vote majority now at 59 votes, the Senate could not pass a revised bill coming back from the House against a Republican Filibuster.

Thus, according to Morris, the House, which passed their version of the Bill by only three votes, will bite the bullet and pass the Senate approved Legislation.

The 35 or so Democrat Representatives who were given permission to vote against the House Bill, will be brought into line, the Senate Bill will pass on a Party Line Vote and go to the President's desk for signature.

Perhaps political pundits here can remember the contents of the 2500 page Senate Bill, but not I.

So…for those of you who believe it is a ‘human right’ to tax every citizen to pay for socialized healthcare that functions on a cost/benefit ratio, (kill grandma), then there is still hope for you.

Ain’t polytiks fun?;)

I don't think the Health Care bill as currently proposed (whatever that entails) will become law. Too many Dems see the mood of the country and are running for the tall grass. Pelosi's got a lot riding on this and will pull a kamikaze act because her seat's safe. The House is mad because the Senate bill doesn't go far enough, the Senate's mad because the House Bill goes too far. I don't see a compromise anytime soon.

Short version: Everybody in Washington is thinking re-election not health care. It's become a political third rail. ;)

You could well be correct, TE, and I hope that you are, however...consider the following line of thought and what you, and all of us, have read and heard, on this forum and elsewhere:

Socialized Medicine, National Healthcare, free health care for everyone, is and has been the central, core value of the Progressive Left since the early 20th century, back to the time of Wilson and the League of Nations.

The Obama administration has spent a year and considerable political capital on this single issue almost since the day of his inauguration; it was also the centerpiece of his Presidential Campaign.

How many times have you read or heard that every western, industrialized, civilized nation provides healthcare for all their citizens?

How many times have the bleeding heart Liberals on this forum chastized the United States as being backwards and behind the times in recognizing the need and the 'right' of every person to have health care?

Obama, Reid and Pelosi have bet the house on Black, on a spin of the wheel and they will not overlook any method in order to impose a national health care plan on America.

Even though 65% of the public are opposed to Obamacare, like all elitist's, they righteously believe they are smarter than the general public and have the 'right' to impose their will.

Further, if Obama fails on healthcare, he fails on all major legislation and will be a one term President under great pressure from all sides. The Republicans want nothing to do with his policies, the Left Wing of the Democrat Party think he has already sold out.

The lure of historical perspective of Obama passing national healthcare is too enticing to dismiss; they will stop at nothing to pass this Bill.

Granted it might. If it does, however, it will be such a conglomeration of bits and pieces, compromises and exceptions, rewards and punishments that it will take quite some time to unsnarl everything. Then one must assemble a massive bureaucracy to implement it. Meanwhile, the citizenry is furious about it's passage and will be incoherent with rage when they see how one group is privileged and another bears the tax burden.

Seniors are already mad because Medicare's to be cut to help pay for this fiasco. The states are mad because Medicaid is expanded to cover more people and their contributions are increased substantially. Plus many states are already bankrupt or close to it.

It would actually be better for the Dems if the bill fails. Otherwise it'll be a millstone around their necks come election time and they don't want that.

I understand and agree with almost every point you make.

If the Bill is passed by the House and becomes Law, it will be viewed as the Civil Rights Legislation, or the Social Security Legislation of the 30's and the Medicare Great Society Legislation of the 60's.

It is that big to the Left, it is HUGE to the entire left wing, liberal, progressives who infest this forum and academia across the Nation and World.

Obama and his toadies are ideologues, they 'believe' in the sanctity of universal health care and are, I think, willing to commit political suicide to pass this Bill.

This isn't my prediction, I attributed it to Dick Morris, but upon hearing and thinking, I see where his thought is and see it as a possible outcome.

We shall see.

If the POTUS and his posse are prepared to be one termers to get this bill passed, they better consider if the Repubs gain power again they'll rip this noxious mess to pieces via amendments and other means.

It'll take years to begin implementing it anyway while it's tax burden begins immediately (except for labor unions) adding to the already soaring unemployment and undermining job creation efforts. That'll go over big.

IMO it's DOA. ;)

Most appreciative of the opposing thoughts, TE...the best to you and yours...
