In ancient times, a great magical plague caused the god-like Dragon Skylords to fall from the skies and turn to dust. But before the last of them fell, they transferred their powers into a set of rings so that magic could live on. These rings were given to the Druids who had worshiped the Skylords, but such power in the hands of mortals became troublesome as humans were very susceptible to corruption.

The Druid Council of Elders ultimately decided to hide the Power Rings away from the world, of which there were twelve total. They created two enchanted jewelry boxes, placed six Rings in each, magically sealed them, and then buried them on opposite sides of the world.

Fast forward many centuries later, and our characters are high school seniors in Angel Grove, a suburb just outside Los Angeles. As we near the end of the school year, our biggest concerns are college or career choices. To take a break from it all for a while, we head up for a weekend at my character's father's cabin by the lake, but then the entire area is hit with a massive earthquake. Part of the ground underneath the lake cracks open, and a valuable looking jewelry boxes floats up from where it was previously buried.

We retrieve the box, open it, and when we try on the Rings inside, we become the Power Rangers and each have the power of a colored dragon. I will be the Red Dragon Ranger with the power of fire.

Opening the box also release's Zordon's Echo, a shard of Elder Zordon's soul that he bound to the box when he created the seal. The Echo can only be seen and heard by the Rangers and he appears to them kind of like a ghostly hologram and acts as a guide and mentor. The other box was bound with Ritara's Echo, Zordon's wife. But unfortunately for her, the Echo remained conscious and aware this entire time and has grown disgusted with humanity after witnessing centuries of wars.

Upon sensing that Zordon has awakened, she reaches out to him telepathically, and he sends our characters to collect the other box. Once we have the box and open it, Ritara is set free but immediately, Zordon realizes she has become corrupted, and her hate has given her more power, a power that has had centuries to fester. She is able to use these new abilities to possess my character's sister and take control of her, equip the Purple Power Ring, and then take the other five Rings from the second box and build her own team of evil Rangers.

So, ultimately, we have a team of six good Rangers and a team of six evil Rangers. Ideally, I'd like to have two other male writers and three female writers so we have equal pairings, and then we each control one good Ranger and one evil Ranger. For me it would be the Red and Purple Rangers and then Zordon as a background character.
