I've been wondering what kinds of PoV people preferred. Personally, I like to use first, male and third, either/or. Second drives me up the wall for some reason, though, but it might have to do with the verb tense involved.

Same here more or less. 3rd would be my first choice, I'll write in 1st if i'm adding to a story that's already in that POV. 2nd I don't think I've done.

I don't mind 2nd Person, since these are Find Your Own Adventure stories, and 'You' puts you in the story. Most of my stories are 3rd Person. The POV I find most difficult is 1st Person. Maybe it's the FOYA and reading about someone else (whoever the 'I' is).

The second person POV has been discussed at length.

Some find it too pushy, I just find it awkward. It's you-this and you-that. Very uninspiring.
My favorite is 3rd person with the POV changing from character to character. My hermaphroditic alien section of A Hard Choice is written that way. I feel I'm getting better at it, which I'm consciously trying to do, since most fiction is written from that POV.

Third Person

I like writing in third person better. I would have changed one of my stories to third person, but it is too developed story.

I agree. But I have decided it would be worth the trouble. Second person is just too awkward, no matter how natural it may have been with the to think second person would be reasonable we don't use it in english enough for it to be natural.

Hence, "Geeki Sunt Freaki" est nunc in hiatum.

Ah! That's what you're doing with it! Now I understand.

I'm sure you'll let us know when its open again.

For my normal fiction I prefer first person rotating between two or more viewpoint characters of any gender (except neuter, I have the damndest time trying to write from a non-sexual point of view). But for my interactive story I ended up going with third person in the body and second person in the choices at the bottom. I also wasn't initially sure whether to go with present tense or past tense; I wrote some parts each way, the ended up rewriting the present ones to past. *Is attacked by the sudden suspicion that I forgot to rewrite one*

I do think I did one unique thing with viewpoint in my story. Since my characters are hermaphrodites, I realized that treating them as male would appeal to one audience and treating them as female would appeal to a different audience, so I made that the first choice in the story, and there's two parallel versions of every thread, the male version and the female version. :)

I used to enjoy second person a while back hence my only two chyoo stories are both in second person, although if I were to start a new story I would now write it in third person, thats not to say that I dislike second person. I feel all perspectives have their place and as long as the story is well enough written to enjoy it shouldn't really matter what pov it is written in. That said, I have to admit that I don't really like first person, it reads like they are gloating 'I had icecream' or 'I had the best orgasm of my life'.

I try to flow through all of them, and keep an open mind. A lot of it depends on the author whom is writing the script so to say. If they are well talented with a certain PoV they can make any certain one particularly interesting. Then you get the ones that are like "I had the best orgasm" "You had the best orgasm" blah blah...but when in writing of first or second person, I'd like real personality built, give us the strengths and weaknesses of the character, build them for me, as you have the whole story to, play with it, don't be afraid to throw in flaws.
