posting poetry in the General forum?

Are there any rules against posting poetry in the General forum?

Sometimes I enjoy lobbing a lyrical grenade into a flaming trashcan just to see how the natives react. Knock people out of their comfort zones. Put them on the defensive. Get them discussing issues.

Would such a pastime be discouraged?

some do

i have, as has drown/cleaver, neci, fata morgana, atlas and others

but it's not too likely to get much response poetry-wise but no-one's saying you can't do it. there has even been the odd lyric thread there, and the idividual postings of beautiful pieces posters have chosen to share with others, pieces from those well-feted for their talents over the centuries.

I often wonder why people wander into the General Board willingly. I was going to ask your purpose, but it's right there. I don't think they have a comfort zone there, or can be put on the defensive, but good luck.

i post there regularly. the ignore button's your friend, and there are some very smart, witty people to read there. tailor the experience, it makes it just fine

I doubt you'll knock many of us out of or into any particular zone...but give it your best shot, sport.
